Motion:
Law of
Acceleration
Who among you loves to
join marathon?
In your PE class, have you
already done the Physical
Fitness Test such as 200 m
run?
Did you compare your speed
with your classmates? Who
among you runs the fastest? Who
runs the slowest?
What makes other run fast
and others run slow?
Which carabao can
move faster or move
with greater
acceleration. Why?
Is it possible for the
carabaos to have the
same amount of
acceleration? How?
Activity

Force and
Acceleration
Objective:
After this activity, you should be
able to describe how the net force
acting on an object affects its
acceleration.
Procedure:
A.Tape chart analysis
• Obtain from your teacher the copies
of the tape charts produced by the
students for the 4 runs.
• Examine the tape chart for F=1 unit.

• Draw a line that passes through all

the dots at the ends of the strips in
F=1 unit. Do the same for the other
tape charts.
Rubrics:
Accuracy Demonstrated Knowledge Group Effort
4 pts – shows complete 4 pts – all members
4 pts – 100% of the task was understanding of the ideas participate in the activity
done and were accurate. and processes for the task
given
3 pts – shows substantial 3 pts – one or more
3 pts – 75% of the task were
understanding of the problem, members do not
done and answers were
ideas and processes participate in the activity
accurate
2 pts – 50% of the task were 2 pts – response shows poor 2 pts – only the leader
done and answers were understanding of the problem worked on the activity
inaccurate.
transmutation:
Score Grade Score Grade
12 100 6 85
11 97.5 5 82.5
10 95 4 80
9 92.5 3 77.5
8 90 2 75
7 87.5 1 72.5
A. Answer the following analysis questions:

1. If the force applied to the object

becomes doubled and the mass remains
constant, the object’s acceleration will
_______ (reduce into half, doubled,
remain constant)
A. Answer the following analysis questions:

2. If the force applied to the object remain

constant and the mass becomes doubled,
the objects acceleration will _______
(reduce into half, doubled, remain
constant)
A. Answer the following analysis questions:

3. If the mass of the object doubled and

the force applied into it is also doubled,
the objects acceleration will ________
(reduce into half, doubled, remain
constant)
A. Answer the following analysis questions:

4. If the same amount of force will

be applied by a driver in a
motorcycle and jeepney, which will
have greater acceleration? Why?
A. Answer the following analysis questions:

5. If you are to pull two sacks of

copra that weigh the same not at
the same time, which will have
greater acceleration?
B. Computation:

You and your friends are playing tumbang preso

at the school ground during your MAPEH class.
You hit the can that weigh 0.02 kg using a slipper
with a force of 12 N. Your classmate hit the same
can with a force of 6 N? Which can will have
greater acceleration? By how much?
Assignment:

With the group, design and construct your

own racing toy car using localized materials in such
a way that once set for a race, the toy car will
move fast or will have greater acceleration value.

Output of students will be evaluated using rubrics.
