INTERACTION BETWEEN LIVING THINGS AND

ENVIRONTMENT
The environment comes from the word
“Environment” has meaning “The physical,
chemical, and biotic condition surrounding an
organism.”

As everything outside the individual

The Environment consists of
interrelationship two main components
between the
living things and
the Biotic Abiotic
environment. Human Water
Animal Soil
ECOSYSTEMS Plant Air
Microorga Light

EFFECT OF
POLLUTION ON LIVING
ORGANISMS
WHAT IS POLLUTION?
• Pollution is the introduction of
harmful substances or products
into the environment.
TYPES OF POLLUTION

 SOIL POLLUTION

 WATER POLLUTION

 AIR POLLUTION

 NUCLEAR
CAUSES OF AIR POLLUTION

• Carbon dioxide , Deforestation and fossil fuel

burning.
• Sulfur dioxide, burning of sulfur containing
compounds of fossil fuels.
• Radioactive fallout causes air pollution from the
nuclear energy dispersed, which is a dust.
• Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) reduces the amount of
ozone. CFCs come from:
1. the burning of plastic foam items
2. leaking refrigerator equipment
3. spray cans
EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION
• Reduced lung functioning
• Irritation of eyes, nose, mouth
and throat
• Asthma attacks
• Respiratory symptoms such as
coughing and wheezing.
• Increased respiratory disease
such as bronchitis
EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION
• Reduced energy levels
• Headaches and dizziness
• Disruption of endocrine, reproductive and immune
systems
• Cardiovascular problems
• Cancer
EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION
• Increasing the
amount of
CO2 in the
atmosphere
result a
warming of
the Earth's
surface .
• CO2 in
atmosphere
=> GLOBAL
WARMING
WATER
POLLUTION
• Water pollution is
the contamination
of water bodies
(e.g. lakes, rivers,
oceans and
groundwater).
Causes of water pollution
The sources of water pollution is addition of various
waste product in the fresh water.
1.Industrial waste
2.Agricultural waste
3.Use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers
4 Discharge of urban waste
EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION
Waterborne diseases caused by polluted
drinking water:
• Typhoid
• Amoebiasis
• Giardiasis
• Ascariasis
• Hookworm
Waterborne diseases caused by polluted
beach water:
• Rashes, ear ache, pink eye
 Respiratory infections
 diarrhoea, vomiting, and stomachaches
 Damage to the nervous system
 Liver and kidney damage
 Damage to the DNA
Soil pollution
• Soil pollution is defined as a phenomenon
characterized by the loss of structural and biological
properties by the soil layers as a result of numerous
human and natural factors, such as wind,
deforestation, chemical use, among others, etc.
Causes of soil pollution
• Soil can become contaminated in many ways.
Chemicals, like herbicides and pesticides, are
major polluters; oil dumps, landfills, and
industrial wastes can also wreak havoc.
Effects of soil pollution
 Causes cancers including leukaemia
 Mercury can increase the risk of kidney damage; cyclodienes
can lead to liver toxicity
 Causes neuromuscular blockage as well as depression of the
central nervous system
 Also causes headaches, nausea, fatigue, eye irritation and
skin rash
 Contact with contaminated soil may be direct (from using
parks, schools etc) or indirect (by inhaling soil contaminants
which have vaporized)
Global warming
Global warming is the
increase in the average
temperature of the
atmosphere, ocean, and land
earth.
Global Warming
Process
Issues
1. Excessive electricity use 2. Ilegal logging

3. Industrial smoke 4. vehicle emission

5. Greenhouse effect
Effect on global warming
1. Changes in weather and climate
2. Lowering of agricultural products
3. Effect on plants
4. Respiratory Effects on humans
Solve the problem Of global warming

1. Reducing the use of motor vehicles

2. save electricity
3. Not doing illegal logging
4. reforestation
5. Reducing greenhouse building
Tujuan Pembelajaran
• Selama proses pembelajaran, peserta didik selalu menjaga lingkungan belajar agar tetap bersih.

mencegah terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan.

• Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, peserta didik dapat bekerja sama dalam memecahkan masalah.
Pengertian Pencemaran
• Menurut UU RI Nomor 23 Tahun 1997, pencemaran
Macam-Macam Pencemaran
1. Pencemaran Air

2. Pencemaran Udara

3.Pencemaran Daratan
