OBSERVATIONS, ISSUES AND CONCERNS
 Most Senior High graduates opted to enrol in a program not related to their Senior High
School track/strand thus the need for a bridging program
 Bridging program is not well understood by Senior High School students and parents,
complaints and resistance are experienced by SHEI during admission
 HEIs need for support from DePEd in intensifying Career Guidance Orientation among DepEd
schools (to advice Senior High Students to take up programs related to their chosen track)

 Low score of Senior High School graduates in the college admission test

 Lack of available partner industries that will cater immersion program of Grade 12 students

 Need for SHS Teachers to undergo in-service trainings, local workshops and school-based
seminars on pedagogical approaches to improve their teaching skills in teaching the strands-
costly for HEIs

 Challenges in the transition from Senior High to College (in terms of expectations for a
College graduate, readiness in taking professional courses..)
