ACOUSTIC FLOORING
Two branded acoustic flooring ranges, Reduce and Sound Floor have been
developed together with a comprehensive selection of ancillaries by the
Company's fully qualified acoustic .The products are easy to fit, economical to
use and deliver outstanding acoustic performance whatever the application.
Highly qualified and experienced building and acoustic engineers are available to
discuss all aspects of building design and acoustic flooring installation and can
prepare specifications to ensure optimum acoustic performance is achieved. Pre
and post installation testing for both airborne and impact sound insulation is
available on request.
Standards
All acoustic floor products are manufactured under
Quality Management Standard EN ISO 9001:2000.
Environmental
acoustic floor products are made from naturally
occuring minerals.
Benefits
• Ensures compliance with Part E Robust Detail constructions,
and Part E and Part H (Scotland) descriptive constructions.
• Durable - not easily damaged in storage, during transport
or during installation on site.
• Also provides thermal benefits.
• Non-combustible.
• Environmentally friendly - made from naturally occurring
minerals in a process that does not involve environmentally
damaging gasses.
• Effective for the lifetime of the building.
• Non-hygopscopic.
ACOUSTIC FLOOR
Acoustic Floor is a free-floating, sound insulating floor system for
structural joist framing. The system has wide applications for new
build, conversion and improvement work, in particular, for remedial
treatment of existing timber joist floors where an improved sound
rating is required.
It is designed as a separating floor between and within dwellings
and can be used with wall lining and partition systems.
The system combines resiliently mounted floor and ceiling linings
to add mass and sound absorption while minimizing the overall
thickness of the floor, adding only 6mm to the top of the joists.
Using standard components Acoustic Floor is easy and economical
to install and provides exceptional airborne and impact sound
insulation together with a 1 hour fire resistance.
Performance
The selection of boarding will depend on the performance
required for fire resistance and sound insulation. Refer to
performance table. In all cases, a fire resistance of 60 minutes is
achieved.

Thermal insulation
Acoustic Floor incorporates a 100mm glass mineral wool quilt
density 10.5 kg/m3³ which gives a thermal resistance value of
R=2.5m² K/W to the floor construction.

Fire Floor:

The Fire Floor system provides for a one-hour fire rated ceiling
when refurbishing buildings and where there is a requirement to
improve the acoustic performance of an intermediate timber floor
without disturbing an existing lath and plaster or single layer
plasterboard ceiling.
In order to achieve the fire rating, floorboards are removed and Fire
Mesh is mechanically fixed around the profile of the timber joists to
provide a secure supporting "hammock" for Fire Wool to be friction
fitted between the joists.

FIRE WOOL…
Fire Wool is an integral part of the Fire Floor system which is designed
to provide a one hour fire rated ceiling when refurbishing old and listed
buildings without disturbing the existing lath and plaster or single layer
plasterboard ceiling. It also improves the acoustic performance of an
intermediate timber floor by reducing sound transmission through the
structure.
Fire Wool is manufactured from non-combustible rock fiber.

Highly qualified and experienced building and acoustic engineers are
available to discuss all
aspects of acoustic performance requirements with clients, architects,
specifiers, building
control officers, builders and contractors. They can prepare specifications
and effective
installation instructions to ensure optimum acoustic performance is
achieved. They are also
available and have the necessary equipment to undertake pre- and post-
installation testing
for airborne and impact sound insulation, if required. Further details
are available on
request. FireMesh

Sound Breaker Bars…
Acoustic isolation channels suitable for use on the underside of timber
joists and metal and timber stud partition walls.
Designed to de-couple a ceiling from the floor above or a wall from a
secondary partition to minimize both airborne and impact noise transfer
between adjacent rooms.
Manufactured from pressed hot dipped zinc steel.

Applications:
Meeting rooms, offices, conference facilities, interview rooms,
classrooms, cinemas, clinics, party walls, dwellings and residential
buildings

SoundBreaker Bars are designed to:

Reduce both airborne and impact noise
transfer between adjacent rooms by
decoupling an existing wall or ceiling
from a secondary wall or ceiling.
