The “Fuel and Go Green”

Challenge
COLLABORATION BETWEEN
INTI-IU AND POLYMER COMPOSITE ASIA
The Challenge
 INTI-IU and Polymer Composite Asia is conducting a Competition for students to
design a “Green Petrol Station” in order to create a sustainable eco friendly
initiative by reducing the carbon footprint it leaves on the natural environment.
 The competition can be opened to all students of INTI and staffs of PCA.
Presentation needs to be creative and to include minimum an A0 size poster
with 10 minutes presentation slides. Innovative table displays will be an added
advantage.
Objectives

 Students are to come up with a green petrol station known as a sustainable

facility that is designed, built, renovated, operated, or reused in an ecological
and resource-efficient manner.
 It is designed to meet certain objectives such as protecting health; improving
employee productivity; using energy, water, and other resources more
efficiently; and reducing the overall impact to the environment.
Scope
Scope of the competition involves 6 criteria for Green Petrol Station:

 Energy Efficiency - deals with the distribution of energy and its consumption
 Indoor / Outdoor Environment Quality - air quality, the acoustics, the visual and the
thermal comforts
 Sustainable Site Planning & Management - promotes a healthy environment
 Materials & Resources - uses environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and
resources when being built and for maintenance and running of the facilities
 Water Efficiency - use water saving mechanisms to prevent unnecessary wastage of
water
 Innovation - involves any innovative design, initiative or method which promotes
sustainable living, helps the environment, reduces carbon emissions and meets with the
objectives set by the green building index (GBI)
