WHAT IS DISABILITY?

 Person with disability means a person with long-term

physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment which,
in interaction with barriers, hinders his full and effective
participation in society equally with others (PWD Act 2016:
3).

Objectives
To Explore:-
Accessibility to recreational spaces such as,
restaurants, cinema halls, street food
spaces and dhabas for students' with
disability.
To Examine:-
The understanding of disability among stakeholders in
recreational centers and their perception towards
disabled people accessing their centers.
To Understand
- The experiences of male and female students with disability,
particularly in the context of following aspects.
a. Everyday life while accessing these spaces.
b. Negotiation with people in these centres.
c. The impact of accessibility policy in day to day life of
disabled students.

To Make
- Tangible changes in terms of making recreational spaces
more accessible for the students.

for disabled people around north campus and those spaces.
 Posters, pamphlets will be used media coverage can also be done.
 Through discussion try and sensitise relevant stakeholders like
owners, managers etc.
POLICY LEVEL

 Have detailed deliberations with scholars and experts

on this field to identify and relevant changes at an
administrative level.
 Propose the local government to address issues of
inclusion, after exploring the needs by listening to the
voices of disabled students and understanding the
perception of stakeholders.
