 DEFINITION OF NATIONAL UNITY

• A process to unite various groups that have different social

and cultural background into one physical entity. (S. P.
Huntington, 1951).

• A process/goal by which all the people inhibiting a

particular territory irrespective of their religious, ethnic
and linguistic differences, on the basis of certain shared
traditions, experiences, common history and values strive
to live together forever with honor and dignity.(Vyas
1993).
