 Synopsis/Idea

My documentary is about Immigration but more specifically my

family’s story moving from Poland to England. It all started of when
my dad became redundant when there was no work for him to do in
Poland, luckily one night he received a phone call from one of his
mates telling him he has a job opportunity in England. As an impulse
decision he agreed and soon after in October with 5 other guys went
on a flight to England. In my documentary he will be telling us his
stories moving to a different country but I will also be getting my
mums perspective staying in Poland with me and my brother.

I am making my short documentary for the

Encounters film festival which takes place on
the 24th of September till the 29th of
September. I've chosen this competition
because it looks very interesting and it gives
me loads of time to make my documentary
and then submit it.

I think I could win this competition because

my documentary will be very personal and
hard hitting as it follow the story of my family
moving to a different country to start a new
and better life and it will show all the highs
and lows of moving to a different country.
