 Power is a critical infrastructure for economic
development and for improving the quality of
life.With increasing the urbanization,industrial
growth and per capital consumption,the gap
between the actual demand supply gap and
conservation of fossil fuels, the goverment
believs that alternate sources of energy
including enrgy generated through waste heat
recovery process are like to play an increasingly
important.
 PETRO CARBON & CHEMICAL PVT. LTD. Is a public
limited company. It is presently involved in
manufacturing high quality calcined petroleum
coke(99.9% carbon) in Haldia.West Bengal.
 The raw material for Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) is
Raw Petroleum Coke (RPC) which is produced in petroleum
refineries. It is the residue after all gases and liquid
products are separated from Petroleum crude.
 In this process the rpc first take out from the yard by
passing rpc material through vibro feeder to the R1 belt
where an electromagnetic device placed to r1 for
seapration of magnetic material through the rpc mixture
(composition of material) after that it passes to r2 belt
crushing machine which is located between r1 and r2 belt
and it goes to crush the rpc material below 40mm.
 It makes rpc material size 40mm.then after it goes through
belt to storage tank which is known as silo.
 There are 4 silo’s for storing rpc material,known as silo1
,silo2,silo3,silo4.
 Rpcmaterials goes to silo1 then after silo2 and
after filling of silo1 and silo2 then the rpc material
goes to silo3 and silo4.

A device for measuring temperature in

measured.

cell and strain gauge load cell.
 Through load cell track we measure the net weight
of the (amount) RPC and CPC material consists by
each box of the train.
 There is an signal device located near the track for
the proper command of the train.
 The track consists three pair of switch with an
proper controller on a special type of track made
for the measurement
 There is a four load cell provided for the weight
measurement of CPC and RPC material connected
through the controller.
 The whole system is controlled by programmable
software where the all setup is appears on
computer system.

A Bucket elevator,also called grain leg,is a mechanism for hauling
flowable bulk materials(most often grain or fertilizer)vertically.

It consists of :

1. Buckets to contain the material;

2. A belt to carry the bucket and transmit the pull;
3. Means to drive the belt;
4. Accessories for loading the buckets or picking up the materials,
for reciving the discharged ,material, for maintaining the belt
tension and for enclosing and protecting the elevator.

A Bucket elevatpor can elevate a variety of bulk materials from light

to heavy and from fine to large lumps.
 Maintenance is the process for maintaining
any equipment or machinery in a proper and
efiicient condition.For getting satisfactory
and trouble free service from any electrical
equipment or apparatus or any other
electrical machine, it requires careful planed
programme of checking and inspecting and
also for preventive maintence.
 On completion of our vocational training at petro-carbon
and chemicals pvt.ltd . We have come to know about the
process of rpc to cpc. The Purpose of this report is to
provide a natural approach about the petro-carbon
industry. The first section of this report discussed about
the main products of the industry, the later section or
utility section is discussed about the various auxiliary parts
which are very important for the pollution point of view.
The company is very much conscious about the
environment ,about this worker health. At the last section,
there is a discussion about the ROTARY KILN & CONVEAR
BELT & the various equipment’s, that are generally used in
this industry. Many pictures are provided for the clean idea
about the industry. We are indebted to all those who
helped in the preparation of this report . We hope this
