INTRODUCTION
Global issue
Earthquake is a natural phenomenon that often occur
naturally in an unexpected time.In 2010 the great
earthquake struct Japan followed by a devastating
tsunami an it kills more than 15,000 people, with the
magnitude of 9 comparing it to the earthquake
experience in Turkey with a magnitude of 7.6 were it
killed around 17,000 people which was higher than the
Japans number of death.
National issue
On the other hand 7.0 magnitude earthquake
has recorded off the cost of the Phillippines
according to the US geological survey.The
shaking happened at 11:39 120 miles southeast
of Mindanao’s largest city, Davao and
approximately 62 miles southeast of the city of
Pandaguitan
Local issue
Hence in the Sisters of Mary School-
Girlstown,Inc.To examine whether the
Knowledge on Earthquake, Attitude on the
earthquake risk affect the practice on
earthquake readiness of the students.
Reasons for conducting this study

● To know the level of knowledge,Attitude, and


Practices of the Grade 8 students towards
Earthquake Preparedness.
● To know if there is a significant relationship
between the respondents knowledge level and
practice level, attitude level and practice level.
● To give some recommendations.
Theoretical Background

The theory was intended to


explain all behaviors over
which people have the ability
to exert self-control.
THEORITICAL/CONCEPTUAL UNDERPINNINGS
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine the


knowledge,attitude and practices of
the Grade 8 students towards the
Earthquake Preparedness in the
Sisters of Mary School-
Girlstown,Inc.S.Y.2019-2020.
This seeks to answer the following question:
1.What is the respondents knowledge,level of
Earthquake?
2.What is the respondents attitude level on the occurance
of Earthquake?
3.What is the respondents practice level on Earthquake
preparedness?
4.Is there a significant relationship between the
responsents knowledge level and their practice level
on Earthquake preparedness?
5. Is there a significant relationship between the
respondents attitude level and practice level on
Earhtquake Preparedness?
6.How does the respondents knowledge level affects
their practice on Earthquake preparedness?
7.How does the respondents attitude level affects their
practice on Earthquake preparedness?

The researcher used purposive sampling procedure to
