Introduction to the Study
• Introduction
• The United States Natinal Security strategy of 2018 given by Donald J
Trump's administration has revealed great importance towords India, and
its role in world's rising power.
• Despite having concern over India's arm deal with Russia, US will aid and
help India in several terms in its quest for regional as well as Global
power.
• US-Indian relations had been based upon their mutual democratic
principles and the increasing of interests on mutual regional and internal
matters.
• CPEC Factor.
• Afghanistan factor.
Hypothesis

Increase in US-Indian Relations and strategic partnership will create

problems for Pakistan and its Foreign policy
Research Questions

1. What are drivers of this relationship?

2. Why this relationship will effect Pakistan's foreign policy?
3. How this relationship will create instability in South Asia ?
Theoretical Framework
• The strategic cooperation between USA and India, the concerns it
raised for pakistan can be explained in terms of IR theory
"Realism".
• Increase in power capabilities and make alliances against your
Rivals and to maintain balance of power capabilities.
• Shifting of US interest can create serious security Dilemma for
Pakistan.
• Another Realist assumption came into play in this context is
"Anarchic world structure" and distrust among the states against

each other.
LITERATURE REVIEW
• The Growing US interest towards India in the fields of health, defense,
, Nuclear reactors in India by American firms.
• General security of military information agreement(GSOMIA).
• Logistics Exchange memorandum of Agreement(LEMOA).
• Communication capability and Security Agreements(BECA).
• CEPEC.
• Past Pakistan India wars and security Dilemma for rest of the world..
Research Findings

Supporting India will create instability in region ,So according to my

view Washington has to revamp and mull its policies for South Asia
to promote peace between Pakistan and India.
Research methodology

The basic analytical approach of this research is historical and

Qualitative, rather than statistical and Qualitative in nature.
This research is based upon various secondary sources, including
newspaper articles, Journals, Current Affairs magazine and online

Recommendations

• Foreign policy is the reflection of a country's Domestic policy.

Pakistan's Foreign Policy faces the challenges like, War on Terror
in Afghanistan, India, External and internal terrorism.
• Adjusting To rapidly changing Geopolitical Realignments.
• Improving its Global image.
• containing Nuclear proliferation in the region.
• Bring stability in political system.
• promote Trade and Tourism.
• Relations with super powers and Muslim world and mostly India.
Conclusion

• The growing interest of US towards India and pakistan had been

front ally in pre 1979 era of cold war or post 9/11 war, So that would
create instability and security Dilemma for pakistan. In that case
Pakistan to look for alternative options like China and Russia.
• Pakistan need to rebuild its relations with USA and Recently USA is
willing to go on table talks with Taliban and it needs Pakistan to
play role of a mediator between USA and Taliban.
