Impact of Memes to the

students of Batac
Junior College
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

This research aims to:

• a. determine how memes affect the students;

• b. know the factors influencing students using internet memes; and

• c. determine the socio demographic profile of the respondent.


SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This study is significant to the following:

• STUDENTS

• TEACHERS

• FUTURE RESEARCHERS
SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This particular study focus on the selected Junior High School students of
Batac Junior College who use memes in internet with age range from 13-16
years old. This study will seek to explore on evaluating the impacts that can
influence the students who are using internet memes. We conduct the study
by giving them questionnaire and combine their answers.
OPERATIONAL DEFINITION OF TERMS

• Impact- the strong effect or influence that something has on a situation or


person..
• Students- a person who is studying at a school specifically at Batac Junior
College.
• Meme- an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be
considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic,
especially imitation.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
LOCAL STUDIES

• It proves that in this digital age, modes and mediums of communication


change; new “languages” emerge. Among the recent medium used by people
in expressing thoughts and ideas are internet memes. Internet Memes defines
as a piece of culture, typically a joke, which gains influence through online
transmission.
METHODOLOGY

• Research Design
The researchers choose a descriptive survey research design because it best
served to answer the questions and purposes of the study.

To conduct this study entitled “Impact of MEMES to the students of Batac Junior
College”, the researchers studied the impact by collecting and analyzing data from
the High School students of Batac Junior College . This defines that the survey
assessed public opinions or individual characteristics, in other words their socio
demographic profile. It was then assessed by the use of questionnaire and sampling
method.
Locale of the Study
Sampling Technique
The researchers only used purposive random sampling. This sampling
technique only focusing on specific respondents that will surely correspond
and to the given questions and objectives.
Research Instrument

The researchers gathered the data by examining, verifying and analyzing the
answer of the respondents through a 50 questionnare. This study instruments
was use to know the Impact of Memes to the Student of Batac Junior College.
The questionnaire was made by the researchers and was approved by the
subject teachers and will be answered by the respondents. After distributing the
survey question among the students it will be sent back to the researchers. The
researchers will responsibly summarize all the answer of their respondent.
Ethical Consideration

This study collects information to the respondents. This research will be held
responsible for disclosing any confidencial information that are gathered from
them. This study asked for the respondent and they will be respected from any
form of confidentially and anonymity. The researchers ensure that the respondent
will participate voluntarily and will not be in harmed.

CHAPTER V
SUMMARY
The research entitled “IMPACT OF MEMES TO THE STUDENT OF
BATAC JUNIOR COLLEGE” which had the following objectives – (1) to
determine how Memes affect students; (2) to know the factors influencing
students using Internet Memes; and (3) to determine the the socio-
demographic profile of the student.
On the part of result and discussion, mostly of the respondents were 31
or 62% while the male is 19 or 38%. The respondent seemed very happy and
felt that they were knowledgeable enough to answer the questions.
CONCLUSION
The researcher conclude that Internet Memes have become the most
important part of our digital media. With constantly developing technology,
Memes are whole new ideas in advertising, generally, Memes are funny images,
GIF or video paired with a formulaic caption. Memes gives off the feeling of
being part of something bigger, and Memes can nearly effortlessly garner a
substantial amount of likes or retweets. The positive social media attention
serves as a sense of validation for many, especially teenagers.
Overall, Memes are a positive force in the lives of teenagers, for they
provide a source of laughter and stress relief, as well as act as a method of
bringing teens together over a mutual interest.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The recommendations are the following:
• 1.Teachers should use humor to improve Students learning;
• 2.Students should be aware about the importance and benefits of Internet
Memes;
• 3.And this study would be a source for the future researcher’s
