Installing some other tube fittings on tough corrosion
resistant alloy tubing has consistently been a significant
industry challenge, often resulting in process leakage,
safety issues, asset down-time and considerable re-work.

Problems with tube fittings on tough corrosion resistant alloy tubing,


resulting in the following problems having been reported..

 High fitting make-up assembly torques, resulting in damaged and


stripped threads and impossible manual assembly

 Ferrules struggle to grip the tube

GYROLOK XP™ - Introduction
 GYROLOK XP™ has been developed as a “Heavy-
Duty” durable design to improve safety and
provide easier installation at higher working
pressures on small bore tubing systems.
 GYROLOK XP™ design incorporates numerous
design and material technology innovations
which allows the fitting to be assembled onto
tougher/thicker wall tube than other
conventional compression tube fitting designs.
 GYROLOK XP™ has been fully validated across a
broad range of alloys, tubing sizes, and wall
thicknesses, including tough corrosion resistant
alloys ie 316, HC, 6MO, Super Duplex, Alloy’s 625
& 825
GYROLOK XP™ - Introduction

 These unique design innovation allows the fitting to be


used at higher pressures on thicker walled tubing, in
some cases eliminating the need for less reliable cone
and threaded arrangements, or more costly welded
installation or other permanent methods.

GYROLOK XP™ - Key Design Features

 GYROLOK XP™ design has been specifically


developed and validated for high strength alloy
& heavier wall tube applications.
 Utilising the unique GYROLOK® Front ferrule,
which provides an unique mechanical safety
stop design. This feature prevents over-
tightening during installation and eliminates
tube stick which may occur when excessive
installation forces are applied to the tube.
GYROLOK XP™ - Key Design Features
 Rear Ferrule Technology is designed to bite
through the surface of the hard micro skin of
the high alloy tube.
 Front and Rear Ferrules swage and deform the
tube.

GYROLOK XP™ - Key Design Features
 Rear ferrule is low temperature surface hardened
using a process called Kolsterising to enhance
sealing and gripping of heavy wall tube on tough
corrosion resistant alloy tube. After being heat
treated, the ferrule retains its full corrosion
resistance capabilities, unlike some alternative heat
treatments which may deplete Chrome.

 Manufactured in a complete range of corrosion resistant alloys for ultra-


long and reliable service life in sour and chloride laden environments.
 Simple and consistent fitting-to-tube installation using hand and hydraulic
tools.
 Same make up instructions as standard GYROLOK – Simply cut tube
square and de-burr!!
 No expensive, specialised reduced tolerance tubing needed. Standard
ASTM type. Most other high pressure fittings require special tube.
 No Specialised lubrication, preparation or inspection required
 Fully gaugeable
 Available in fractional & metric sizes from ¼” - inch to 1 ½” inch (6mm to
38mm). Other exotic alloy fittings are only manufactured to 3/4” or 1”

• Cone and Thread uses half hard cold drawn tube which does not
meet NACE as standard, and has to be annealed.
• Annealed half hard Medium Pressure tube has dramatically reduced
pressure rating less than 10,000 psi, so this normally means going
to High Pressure cone and thread
