LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT is . . .

• concerns with identifying “ where people
need to grow”
• NOT about generic calendar of activities;

Shift from T&D to L&D
• Interventions should be focused on learners
and not instructors.
• There are many ways to learn, and training is
just one.
• Learning happens continuously and all the
time, and does not stop when a training
event ends.

• Success of intervention is measured by result
(learning) and not just by the delivery (training)
• Everyone is responsible for learning; it is not the
accountability of just one unit
• Knowledge and skills should be shared freely.
• PRIME-HRM requirement
• Every employee knows best which direction to
take his/her learning

Learning Action Cell is a group of teachers
who engage in a collaborative learning
sessions to solve shared challenges
encountered in the school facilitated by the
school head or a designated LAC leader

Why LACs?
• Knowledge is situated in teachers’
everyday experiences. The best way
to think about and learn from those
