 Agro-polymers are mainly extracted from

plants. They are compostable and

renewable polymers. We find different
families such as the polysaccharides or
the proteins. They show some common
characteristics such as a hydrophilic
character. Most of them can be processed
directly, either plasticized, as fillers or
modified by chemical reactions.
 There are two types of agro polymers

 Polysaccharides and proteins
 Polysaccharides are polymeric carbohydr
ate molecules composed of long chains
of monosaccharide units bound together
by glycosidic bonds. They range in structure
from linear to highly branched. Examples
include storage polysaccharides such
as starch and glycogen, and structural
polysaccharides such
as cellulose and chitin.
 Proteins are large molecules consisting
of amino acids which our bodies and the
cells in our bodies need to function
properly. Our body structures, functions,
the regulation of the body's cells, tissues
and organs cannot exist without proteins
