FOREIGN UNIVERSITY APPLICATION

 IRO office invites applications to submit application with SOP on or before mentioned
timeline
 Students are then interviewed by faculty and asked to justify their statement of purpose
 Allocation of seats is based on merit and first come first select the partner and submit
their refundable commitment fee.
 The acceptance is confirmed when the foreign university sends confirmation mail and
asks to upload required documents
 For Germany the student can choose from 4 top universities:
 Bergische Universitat Wuppertal, Wuppertal
 Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Frankfurt
 HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Leipzig
 Munich Business School, Munich
 PFORZHEIM University
 VISA APPLICATION

Once the university application process is done the student has to apply for German student visa. The
required steps are:

The entire application process will last around 4

weeks

The cost for the entire process would be around Rs 6500

 TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATION

 Book tickets early to minimize last minute extra costs

 Approximate round trip flights to Germany cost around Rs 100,000
 Start looking for accommodation at least one month prior to travel
 Some of the recommended agencies for booking accommodation are Airbnb,

 Approximate cost of accommodation would be around Rs 30,000 to Rs 60,000
 HEALTH AND TRAVEL INSURANCE

Both travel and health insurance are mandatory for students travelling to
Germany
Students can get low cost health insurance by applying online at Mawista
Cost comes around to roughly Rs 3000 per month
Students can get low cost travel insurance from either Bajaj Alliance or

The base travel insurance package would cost around RS 7500 for 3 months
 RESIDENCE PERMIT

It is mandatory for students to apply residence permit within 90 days of arriving in Germany (applicable
for students staying more than 90 days)

 Forex card is the easiest way to carry foreign currency and pay for
expenses on your foreign trip
 Thomas Cook forex card is one of the best forex cards in India
 The application for the card can be done at Thomacook
 It is recommended to take single currency forex card as the student will
only use euro
 There are no initial setup costs for Thomas Cook Forex cards
EURO RAIL

 Euro rail is a rail pass for flexible train travel throughout Europe
 There are several options of rail pass to choose from according to your
needs
 For a 15-day Euro rail pass the cost is around Rs 50000
 It is recommended to use euro rail for cutting travel costs for regular
travellers
