Function:
 Self actuating, internally sensed design (Amot)
 Self actuating, externally sensed, capillary pipe (Spirax, Samson)
 Electric operated, electronic controlled
 Pneumatic operated, electronic controlled

 Pt 100

Temperature sensor

Location of the temperature sensor

 Distance > 10 x pipediameter from
the mixing point of hot and cold water
 Preferably in or after a bend
 Better mixing if hot water pipe is connected
from below to the cold pipe

Back-up control

 Amot´s self actuating valve with

manual override meens the C-port
can be opened for cooling.

 Amot´s G-valve or Pleiger electrically

actuated valve stop in the position
where it is when the actuator lose
power. The valve can be adjusted by
a handwheel (optional).

Back-up control

 Amot´s G-valve with pneumatic

actuator can also be provided
with manual control.

 Pleiger pneumatic operated

valve has to be ordered so the Amot
spring open the right port when
driving air is lost (fail safe = full
cooling).
Manual control is optional.

Choice of size
 Pressure drop at full flow has to be checked.
 Water velocity in the pipe connection.

”Set point” for self actuating valves

 The nominal temperature is a bit lower
than the middle of the rated range, e.g.
91°C (87- 98°C).
 Working temperature is about 10°C.
 Received temperature depends of the
temperature and pressure drops in the
circuit connected to B and C port. The
pressure drop can sometimes be
compensated with throttle.
Note. Throttle is correct only in one operation situation
and have to be a compromise.

 Thermostat element has also restriction

for max temperature. Max temp. is
nominal +15…20°C.
