LEADERSHIP STYLES
 AUTOCRATIC LEADERSHIP (Authoritarian)
Power is centralized and the leader
assumes decision making. The leader determines
the policy of the group.
Advantages:
Fosters decision and implementation of
goals.
Disadvantages:
Stifle membership drives and loses
individuality.
LEADERSHIP STYLES
 DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP (Participative)
Decentralized authority, consults follower,
and decisions are not one-sided or unilateral. This
is more people oriented.
Advantages:
Encourages constructive suggestions and
allows members to make choices.
Disadvantages:
Members tend to be assertive and make
them arrogant.
LEADERSHIP STYLES
 LAISSEZ FAIRE/ FREE-REIN LEADERSHIP
This is amidst power and responsibilities.
Advantages:
More freedom and independence.
Disadvantages:
Highly permissive which may lead to chaos and
disunity.
OTHER LEADERSHIP STYLES
 SUPPORTIVE LEADERSHIP
This kind of leadership style positively
affects the satisfaction of subordinates working
with highly stressful or frustrating tasks.
 ACHIEVEMENT ORIENTED LEADERSHIP
This style positively affects the
confidence that the effort will lead to effective
performance of subordinates working on
ambiguous and non-repetitive tasks.
