relationship between the

1. FROZEN
• This style of communications rarely or
never changes. It is “frozen” in time
and content.
• We use the frozen register in prayers,
citing sections from our constitution,
oath, and even speaking verses from
the bible.

• We, the athletes representing the
different athletic units in the School
Sports Program of the Division of
Escalante City, do hereby declare
that we are amateurs and do

• This language is used in formal
settings and is one way in nature.
This use of language usually follows
a commonly accepted format.
• We use formal register in one way
communication like introducing
between two strangers, speeches,

• This is a standard form of
communications. Users engage in a
mutually accepted structure of
communications. It is a professional
discourse.
• We use consultative register in two-way
participation like talking to doctor to
patient, superior to subordinate, and

4. CASUAL
•This is informal language
used by peers and friends.
Slang, vulgarities and
colloquialisms are normal.
•We use casual register in very
informal situations like

• This communication is private. It
