 POWER CARD
• The function of power card is to take-48v and
distribute it to various otherminor cards.
• PWSA(AC type)
• PWSB/PWSC(DC type)
• There are 3 power cards.
• One power card support 6TRX cards
 BB2F FUNCTIONS
• It is known as status card for TRXcards.
• It is basically a DSP(digital signalprocessor).
• One BB2F card take care of two TRX cards.
• BB2F card should be in order for the TRXS
order.
 BOIA UNIT FUNCTION
• It is known as Brain of BTS.

• Transmission cards is basically ainterface for E1/T1 patching

• One BTS support maximum 12 TRX cards.
• TRX card functionality is both transmit and
receive.
• One TRX card perform modulation

Digital Signal Processing
 DUPLEXER FUNCTIONS
• Performs duplex operation of both TX & RX
into one antenna.
• Provide filtering and amplification for both
main and diversity signal from antenna.
• It contains LNA(low noise amplifier) for
amplification.
 MULTICOUPLER
• It performs signal splitting for both main and
diversity signal.
• Multicoupler is of two types:
• 2- way
• 6- way

• One multicoupler handles two TRX

 COMBINERS
• It combines two transmitting signals of TRX
card and generate one output.
• Combiners are of two types :
• 2 – way (wide band combiner)
• 6 – way (remote tune combiner)

operational use.

• There are three steps for commissioning Nokia BTS :

BTS Commissioning Procedure
Note : Check Out Polarities of D.C.(-48 v)
Power supply at Both End using Digital
Millimeter before feeding power to BTS.
1. connect the LMP port of BTS to Serial Port of
Laptop. (DB 9 connector is use for connecting
BTS.)
2.Open Nokia BTS Manager.
Go to Tools and click on Launch HW Configuration.
Go to Configuration and Click on Wizard, than click on
Next button
select Appropriate Sector Configuration as well as Common
Network type (Frequency Band), than click on Next Button
 Reach to Finish Button.
Add Power Supply by Right click of Mouse pointer. Now fill the Type and Name of the
unit as below.
Note: One Power supply Card can support Six TRX. If we have more than Six TRX, than
we have to add one more power supply by follow
Add Dual Base Band by Right click of Mouse pointer.Now Fill the
Type and Name of the unit as below
1 BB2F card can support 2 TRX. Position of BB2F card has to be maintained as
below
No.1 BB2F card will support TRX1,TRX2
No.2 BB2F card will support TRX3,TRX4 so on
Add Transmission by Right click of Mouse pointer.Now Fill the Type and Name
of the unit as below.
