UM SP1 Scenarios and Goals
• Caller name display extraction
− The Caller’s name is often made available from the PSTN (via the IP gateway
or PBX) and should be added to voice message if caller ID resolution against
AD/Contacts has not found any matches.
• Play-on-phone in OWA conversation view
− Provide discoverable UI
• Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) push for OCS
− Send SIP NOTIFY for MWI in OCS 14 Dial Plans, as for other Dial Plan types.
New “Aries” phones can’t call EWS to get mailbox info, but need MWI. Script
that creates UM IP gateway objects must be extended.
• E12  E14 UM for OCS Dial Plans
− Migrate Dial Plan in-place. OCS (after QFE and in 14) will direct all calls to
UM14 servers in mixed 12/14 Dial Plans.
• Secondary Dial Plan support
− Support Outlook Voice Access user login from both Primary and Secondary
Dial Plans
Mail Current : RTM

Goal Scenarios/Features
Fast  Significant improvements to the user experience:

experience and fail part way through

discovering multi-select and view menu controls)
 Improve the overall aesthetic of OWA – reducing clutter and making it easier to scan for
meaningful information
Complete -  Address key take backs from Exchange 2003 & 2007:
