Introduction:-
The project is based on advanced earthquake resistant technique.
 Technique can be broadly classified as (1) base isolation system
(2) Seismic dampers
 Base isolation system is isolating the base(foundation) from superstructure
with the help of LRB, Elastomeric bearing, Sliding bearing, Friction pendulum
bearing.
Damper is basically a device which dissipate kinetic energy. It doesnot detach
sub and super structure but absorb vibration or shock of seismic energy for eg.
Friction damper, viscous damper, tuned mass damper.

Scope and Objectives:-
SCOPE:-
Until now researchers have been working on different types of base isolation
system and seismic dampers which are more economical for its application in
real structure.
Developers and researchers are developing different design of dampers
which are more economical and provides more ability to absorb great amount
of seismic energy at foundation
Researchers are working on the computerized automatic control of dampers
and its activity with respect to earthquake load received by building

OBJECTIVES:-
Study of effect of base isolation system in G+5 story building by static
analysis method of earthquake.
Designed g+5 storey building with and without base isolation system in
ETABS software

Experiments/Analysis:-
We analysed the base isolation effect of G+5
storey building using ETABS 2016 with
following data.
Loads LRB details
 Dead load  height of bearing = 0.276 m
 Live load= 4 KN/sq. m Vertical stiffness = 17543.63 KN/m
Horizontal stiffness = 1120.6 KN/m
 Floor finish = 1 KN/sq. m
 Earthquake –X (R=5,Z=0.36,I=1,Site type 2)
 Earthquake –Y (R=5,Z=0.36,I=1,Site type 2)
 Wall load =11.5 KN/m
Damping = 5%

Conclusion:-
Proving base isolation to fixed base model the following conclusions can be
made.
 Storey shear reduced after the LBR is provided, it reduces the seismic effect
on building.
 Natural periods are increased which reduces earthquake forces on the
building
 Displacements are increased in every story after providing LRB which is
important to make structure flexible during earthquake.
