Who Are We?
CFC Singles for Christ (SFC) is one of the family
ministries of Couples for Christ (CFC). It was founded to cater
to the needs of single men and women from 21 to 40 years of
age. “Single” refers to anyone within that age group who is free
from any legal impediments to marriage. The pastoral care
offered by the ministry, though, is not limited to those who are
called for marriage, but includes as well those who may be
considering either single blessedness or religious vocation as a
state of life.

CFC-SFC was established in April 1993, when a group of

about 40 single men and women, mostly from the Visayas
Islands in the Philippines, met for a 3-day workshop in Kalibo,
Aklan to talk about forming a ministry for single men and
women under the leadership of CFC.

It initially aimed to provide a Christian support

environment for single men and women who want to follow
Christ. However, SFC has taken a more pro-active stance with
regard to providing that environment, by making sure that it
brings Christ to wherever the singles are -- the corporate
setting, campuses, government institutions, even in prison and
developing communities. This is in alignment with CFC`s
thrust of rapid, massive and global evangelization.
VISION
Every single man and woman
all over the world experiencing Christ

MISSION
Building the Church of the Home and
building the Church of the Poor

CFC Singles for Christ aims to provide a Christian

support environment for single men and women who are at
the crossroads of their state of life, choosing between
marriage, a religious vocation or single blessedness.
SFC as a support environment:
• teaches the individual the right values to build their
future in;
• surrounds the individual with friends who are well
meaning and have a positive influence;
• provides the individual with opportunities to meet
potential partners in life who believe in the same
Christian goals and values;
• involves the individual in service that prepares them for
the responsibility of marriage and family life; and
• helps those with a vocation for the priesthood or
religious life to discern their calling.

Entry point to the CFC Singles for Christ program is

through a Christian Life Program (CLP). Pastoral formation is
being given to the singles after the CLP through household
meetings, assemblies, teachings and trainings, international
conferences, discernment seminars, Singles Enrichment
Retreat and many more teachings directed towards the
maturing needs of young, single individuals.
The Christian Life Program (CLP)
The Christian Life Program (CLP) is an integrated course
intended to lead the program participants into a renewed
understanding of and response to God's call to them as
Christians. The program has a total of 13 separate sessions,
usually held once a week.

GOALS OF THE CLP

Specifically, the CLP is intended to achieve the following:

1. Bring the participant to repentance and a renewed faith

in Jesus.
2. Empower the participant in the Christian life through
baptism in the Holy Spirit.
3. Integrate the participant into a strong environment of
support and ongoing formation.

CONTENT OF THE CLP

The CLP starts with an orientation session, then goes into 3

modules of 4 sessions each.

The first module presents the absolute basics of Christian life.

The second module presents the kind of life that God calls us
to, and helps singles to make a reorientation of their lives
around Jesus. The third module helps the singles to
appropriate for their lives the power of the Holy Spirit, and
provides the basis for continuing spiritual growth.
