DESIGN PROJECT

ROLL NO. 6
INTRODUCTION

 The project aims at saving energy by detecting the vehicle movement on

highways and switching ON the block of streetlights ahead of it and
simultaneously switching OFF the trailing lights.
 This can be used to save a lot of energy instead of using conventional
system where the streetlights are remained ON
CIRCUIT
WORKING

 The project uses sensors to detect the vehicle movements and switching
ON the lights ahead of it. As soon as the vehicle moves ahead , the trailing
lights automatically switches OFF
 PWM is used for intensity control through micro-controller.
 The sensors sense the vehicle movements and send it to a 8051 micro-
controller that initiates commands for switching the lights ON/ OFF
 Another mode of operation can be used where the lights are remained ON
with 10% intensity and when the vehicle passes by the lights ahead of it are
switched ON with 100% intensity and the trailing lights revert back to 10%
inentsity
Bone Conduction Headphones
WORKING
Advantages:
• Helps to remain aware of your surroundings while
listening to music
• Extremely useful for people with conductive
hearing losses
• Useful for people with sensitive ears
• Has less chance of damaging your ears than
normal earphones
• Useful for cyclists and pedestrians as using normal
earphones block the sounds from the street
Disadvantages
• Poor sound quality
• No noise cancellation
• The vibrations produced by bone conduction
headphones might cause irritation for some people
INTRODUCTION

 Self inflating tires, in short SIT, uses the energy of the wheel to self-inflate the
tire as needed, keeping the tire always at its optimum pressure level.
 When a vehicle equipped with self-inflating tires is put in motion, under-
inflated tires will automatically re-inflate to their optimum operation
pressure, which the system constantly maintains while the tires are in use.
WORKING
 The system integrates a peristaltic tube chamber into the tire wall.
 The chamber is kept closed at its lowest point by normal tire deformation
caused by the vehicles weight.
 As the tire rolls against the road, the closure moves along the peristaltic tube
chamber forcing more air into the tire with each wheel revolution.
 The SIT design is extremely simple, consisting of only two new tire components:
the peristaltic tube chamber and the automatic pressure regulator with
interface connecting the tire interior with outside environment.
 Inflation is activated only when the tire pressure falls below its optimal level.
 When the optimal tire pressure is reached, the automatic pressure regulator
disables the intake of atmospheric air and activates continuous internal air
circulation between the tire and peristaltic chamber.
 This is important as it takes the load of the system while it is not required to pump
the tire, i.e. when the tire is properly inflated, which is almost in 100 % of the time.
