 When he appeared Arabia was a desert
-- a nothing. Out of nothing a new world

Mohammad -- a new life, a new culture, a
new civilization, a new kingdom which
extended from Morocco to Indies and

I have always held the religion of

Mohammad in high estimation because of

its wonderful vitality. It is the only
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

religion, which appears to me to possess

that assimilating capacity to the
changing phase of existence, which can
make itself appeal to every age.

I have studied him - the

wonderful man and in my opinion

he must be called the

 I believe that if a man like him were to assume
the dictatorship of the modern world he would
succeed in solving its problems in a way that
would bring it the much needed peace and
happiness.
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

 I have prophesied about the faith of Mohammad that

it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow
as it is beginning to be acceptable to the
Europe of today.
 He was by far the most remarkable man
that ever set foot on this earth .
 He preached a religion, founded a state, built a
nation, laid down a moral code, initiated
numerous social and political reforms.
 He established a powerful and dynamic society to
practice and represent his teachings and
completely revolutionized the worlds of human
thought and behavior for all times to come.

All human greatness rolled into

one
The personality of Mohammad! It is most difficult to get into
the truth of it. Only a glimpse of it I can catch. What a dramatic
succession of picturesque scenes.
There is Mohammad the Prophet, there is Mohammad

the General; Mohammad the King; Mohammad the

historian, speaking on the
essentials of human greatness
wonders:
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

"If greatness of purpose,

 The most famous men created arms,
laws and empires only. They founded,
if anything at all, no more than
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

material powers which often crumbled

away before their eyes.
 This man (Muhammad (sas)) moved not
only armies, legislation, empires,
peoples and dynasties, but millions
inhabiting more than one-third of the
world, he moved the altars, the gods,
the religions, the ideas, the beliefs
and souls....

La Martine.
 His forbearance in victory, his ambition,
which was entirely devoted to one idea
and in no manner striving for an empire;
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

 His endless prayers, his mystic conversations

with God, his death and his triumph after
death;
 All these attest not to an imposture but to a
firm conviction which gave him the power
to restore a dogma.
 This dogma was two-fold, the unity of God
(what God is!) and the immateriality of
God (what God is not!).
 He started the mission with words then
overthrew false gods with the sword.

 "The lies (Western slander) which

His noble example
• After the fall of Mecca, more than one million square miles of land lay at
his feet, Lord of Arabia, he mended his own shoes and coarse woolen
garments, milked the goats, swept the hearth, kindled the fire and
attended the other menial offices of the family. The entire town of
Medina where he lived grew wealthy in the later days of his life.
Everywhere there was gold and silver in plenty and yet in those days
of prosperity many weeks would elapse without a fire being
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

kindled in the hearth of the king of Arabia,

• His food being dates and water. His family would go hungry many nights
successively because they could not get anything to eat in the evening.
He slept on no soften bed but on a palm mat, after a long busy
day to spend most of his night in prayer, often bursting with
tears before his creator to grant him strength to discharge his
duties.
• As the reports go, his voice would get choked with weeping and it would
appear as if a cooking pot was on fire and boiling had commenced. On
the very day of his death his only assets were few coins a part of which
went to satisfy a debt and rest was given to a needy person who came
to his house for charity. The clothes in which he breathed his last
had many patches. The house from where light had spread to
the world was in darkness because there was no oil in the
lamp.

Circumstances changed, but the prophet of God did not. In
victory or in defeat, in power or in adversity, in affluence or
in indigence, he is the same man, disclosed the same
character. Like all the ways and laws of God, Prophets of
God are unchangeable.
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

An honest man, as the saying goes, is the noblest work of

God, Mohammad was more than honest. He was human to the
marrow of his bones. Human sympathy, human love was the
music of his soul. To serve man, to elevate man, to purify
man, to educate man, in a word to humanize man-this
was the object of his mission, the be-all and end all of his
life. In thought, in word, in action he had the good of
humanity as his sole inspiration, his sole guiding principle.

Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest He is not God

Mohammad (PBUH) was nothing more or less than a

human being. But he was a man with a noble mission,
which was to unite humanity on the submission to ONE
and ONLY GOD and to teach them the way to ideal and
upright living based on the commands of God.
He always described himself as “ A Servant and
Messenger God”

www.SwanseaMosque.Org
www.islamwales.com
His Humility
Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying, “Don’t
exaggerate in praising me as the Christians did in praising Jesus who was
raised to the status of Allah’s son. I am a servant of Allah; therefore call me a
servant and Messenger of Allah.”

Anas said that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) used to visit the sick,
Muhammad (pbuh) the Greatest

accompany funerals, ride donkeys and accept the invitations of slaves. In the battle
of Banu Quraydha, he was riding a donkey whose bridle and saddle were made of
palm leaves. He also reported that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)
accepted without hesitation invitations to dinners consisting of mere barley and stale
bread. Anas said that the companions of Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)
loved him more than anything in the world, but still they did not stand up when he
came in for he disliked it. Again this shows his extreme humility in that he did not like
people standing up as they stood up for kings and rulers.

When his son Ibrahim died, by coincidence there was a solar eclipse on that day.
People thought that the heavenly bodies were also sharing in the grief of the
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He at once gathered all the companions in
the mosque and addressed them saying, “O people! Know this, that the solar
eclipse is one of the signs of Allah. It does not occur because of the birth or death of
anyone.”

The one who recites Salawat ( Durood ) once Allah sends ten
blessings upon him , eradicates ten of his sins and improves
ten of his grades. (Mishkat)
On the Day of Judgement the nearest person to me, from amongst the
people, would be the one who would have recited Salawat the most in
this (mortal) world. (Tirmidhi) In the magnificent night of Friday (i.e.
the night between Thursday and Friday) and the luminous day of Friday
recite salawat in my favour abundantly, because your recited salawat
is presented to me (by the Angels). (Jamih us-Sahih)
Recite salawat on the day of " Friday " and the " Friday
Night " ( The night between Thursday and Friday ) excessively
because who - so - ever does that , I shall stand witness to him
and would be his advocate on the " Day of Judgement . " (Jamih
