WHO WE ARE
GeoHidroConsult S.R.L, a company established in December

2005, has as main objectif research in physics and natural
sciences and is specialized in Geographical Information
Systems, Spatial Databases, Hydrology, Hydrogeology,
Environment Protection, Natural Hazards, Vulnerability and
Risk Mapping.
Starting with 2007 the company is member of Romanian

Hydrogeology Association and from March this company is
acreditated to carry out hydrology and hydrogeology by the
Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
Its specialists show a national and international experience

obtained during several Romanian and international projects
developed in Switzerland, Belgium, Australia, Spain, Greece,
Italy and Germany.
GeoHidroConsult S.R.L. members are authors of several

University courses and research articles in scientific reviews like
Computers and Geosciences (Elsevier), Environmental Geology
(Springer Verlag), Remote Sensing in Environment (Elsevier) and
Hydrogeology Journal (Springer Verlag).

The study was made taking into account 2 main objectives :

- re-designing the informational system used, at present, by
ANM to integrate spatial data and informations into the working
processes and to improve searching, vizualization, and analysis
procedures;
the ANM knowledgment evaluation to correspund to INSPIRE
directive requirements and providing recomandations on that
sense.
The study content is structured into 2 main chapters : the

actual situation is discussed and some recomandations are
being given to improve and obtain higher quality operational
processes through an geospatial tehnologies introduction and
an informational system change.

AQUAPROTECT - Sustaining Romanian research applied to

groundwater vulnerability and protection at the European level (

● CEEX - 3 partners (University of Bucharest, ROSA, GHC)
● partnership (18 month/ ~ 40k)
● reasons – Within this large scale European COST A 620 project

no participation of a Romanian institution was registered. In
consequence the Romanian experts that showed an actively
participation to the COST A 620 project are trying to involve now
the official participation of three Romanian institutions
representing university, public, and private sector to join the
already created research network.

TITOS - Techniques, technology and ontology for geospatial data

and services portals.
● CEEX - 3 partners (ROSA, ESRI Romania, Faculty of Geodesy –

UTCB, GHC)

● TITOS is a framework of policies, standards, technology, and
human resources that supports and facilitates the management
and use of geographic information.
● The primary objective of TITOS Portal is to support

government-to-government agency and government-to-citizen
sharing of geospatial data, maps and services.
● Specific objectives are to:

- provide a solid foundation to discover, query, and access multi-
vendor geospatial data and services.
enable TITOS Portal users to connect with related user
communities through authored channels, search for and view
metadata, access and view geographic data and Web services,
and publish (register) their metadata and services.
● GHC – Ontologies
SITAR - Integrated Information System for elaborating the

Romanian Groundwater Atlas.
● CEEX - 6 partners (University of Bucharest, ANM, IPA, ISPIF,

GeoAquaConsult, GHC)
● partnership (2 years/ ~ 50k)
● a concept and an expert-tool based on GIS, hydrogeological

databases, and web networking techniques are developed. This
will assist water professionals in groundwater management and
protection activities.
● Hydrogeological data as well as information storage structures

coming from different aquifers of several Romanian regions are
analysed to develop a commonly accepted spatial-database
concept.
● The final hydrogeological database will serve for groundwater

map production at different scales as well for process based
modelling.

Partnership IONIC Software

ØIONIC Software is part of ERDAS, formerly Leica Geosystems

Geospatial Imaging.
ØIONIC develops the software products to securely catalog and

serve geospatial information on the Internet to empower these
types of initiatives.
ØIONIC is now, and increasingly, associated with the current

revolution of efficient and secure interoperable geospatial
exchanges on the Internet for private and public domains
(Government/SDI - Defense/Geospatial Intelligence -
Spatial/Earth Observation - Enterprise/Location Intelligence).
ØINSPIRE Directive: European Parliament and Council reach

agreement on spatial information directive (22 Nov 06 ) : since
the launch of this European initiative, IONIC has contributed to
the development process and to the creation of technical context
able to work according to open and interoperable principles.
ØIONIC's Bernard Snyers Elected to the Open Geospatial

Consortium (OGC) Architecture Board Bernard Snyers, co-
founder of IONIC Software (www.ionicsoft.com) and IONIC’s
Chief Architect was recently elected to the twelve member OGC
Architecture Board (OAB).
