hOverall a low income city with
many economic hardships.
hME Pearson is located near
downtown.

report, 13% of families are living
below poverty level.

appealing atmosphere.
hNew housing projects .

hNew Casino opened.

hNeighboring city, Bonner

Springs, has really helped develop
and promote a great name for the
Wyandotte County.

ME Pearson Community is very close.
ƛ Several of the families are interconnected
with their ties to their home country of
Mexico.
ƛ Many attend church together and love to
hold neighborhood celebrations.
ƛ Recent years have caused the members to
feel uncomfortable and less involved in the
school. This year the LMS will be in charge
of community outreach to parents.

-
 Unfortunately, neighborhood crime rate
is at a rise.
ƛ Growing number of neighborhood gangs
such as F13.
ƛ In 2009, the school mourned the loss of a
former student who was shot right outside
school property during school hours.
Fortunately, ME Pearson has very few
behavior issues and very few discipline
referrals compared to the district norm.
