Step 8
Flipping the tutorial page
Now that you found a tutorial that hasn't been edited. It is time to flip the tutorial
over into a semantic tutorial.

Step 9 (Required Once)

Open a text editor like notepad
Step 10
Open the pages history

Copy the date the page was first created to notepad.

Step 11
Click edit with form

Step 12
Go to the last tab – Tutorial Content
Step 13
Copy into notepad the tutbox content.
Step 14
Delete unneeded header and footer content leaving only the
tutorial content
Step 15
Hit save to mark the tutorial as “working on it”

Step 16
Using notepad extract the values from the {{tutbox}} to fill
out the form.
Step 16.a
Most of the information in the tutorial form will be new information you will need to
create from reading the tutorial and extracting information.

Some information is provided via the tutbox. This information is:

Catbox – Categories this tutorial belongs in.

• The primary category should be added as the “The Secondary Category”
• The remainder should be added to the “Tags:” field of the form.
• The only exception are the ones that mark the tutorial as code or
video.
• Do not add them as tags – but update the Tutorial Type accordingly.

Skillbox– extract the skill level number

Wordcount - dropped
H(ours) M(inutes) – Add 60 for each hour to the number of minutes and collect
the total. This will be the Duration to complete in minutes.
• This represents the total time to do the tutorial (text/code) or the duration of
the video.
Step 16.a
Quality Level – Extract the number
TutorialMeta – Extract the authors name, source link and mask, copyright type,
talk link and mask (if exists) and any extra data that may exist. Extract PreReq
(Prerequisite data)
If the PreReq data has a URL in it - It will cause errors with the new semantic
wiki. To correct this update the PreReq to note that there is content to be
downloaded and update the actual tutorial itself to show the links.
Understanding Source/Talk – Link and Mask:
[http://thisisalink.com This is my mask.com]. [ ] denotes a external link, the
first value to follow is a URL the second after a space is the mask. Extract both
and transport them to the following fields.

Do your best to match copyrights with the original written down – if none fit select
All rights reserved. Cross reference with Content Share Agreements.
Step 16.b
If possible create a small and large display image, or extract one from the
tutorial.

Delete any description/overview from the start of the tutorial and place it in the
correct area in basic information.

Use the date from step 10. to update the “Date this tutorial was created” field.
