The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

Ezra 3 8 Now in the second month of the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, Jeshua the son of Jozadak,[a] and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began work and appointed the Levites from twenty years old and above to oversee the work of the house of the LORD.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

Then Jeshua with his sons and brothers, Kadmiel with his sons, and the sons of Judah,[b] arose as one to oversee those working on the house of God: the sons of Henadad with their sons and their brethren the Levites. 10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood[c] in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites,

10

When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood[c] in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the ordinance of David king of Israel. 11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel. [d]

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid. 12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, 13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.

Haggai 2 According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear! 6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations,[a] and I will fill this temple with glory, says the LORD of hosts.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the LORD of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the LORD of hosts.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

We come now to the last sermon I am going to preach on the Church section of this series. Our text deals with the overwhelming commission given to the post exilic generation. To rebuild a temple, a temple that had experienced world renown and beauty beyond compare. The leadership was gone, the beauty was gone and most importantly the glory was missing. Glory defined as the nature and acts of God in self manifestation.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

A new generation had arisen, a generation without all the accolades of the previous. A generation not yet proven, a reluctant generation always being measured by the one prior to Who can match the glory being so present that the people couldn t stand to minister (paraphrased 2 Chronicles 5:14)

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

A captivity so great that Ezekial saw God s glory being lifted from the area, the cherubims came and the glory stood over them. The glory had departed and according to scripture went up and stood upon a mountain to the east of the city.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

If you were to ask me, based on the previous and now looking into Ezra s generation I would have said, NO WAY .. Remember several weeks ago I touched in this area of the latter house being greater than the former , I spoke of how in my mind, I couldn t understand the possibility or the measure of how this could happen.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

The prophetic nature of the church reveals a similar scenario. The pronouncement of you in this latter house, being greater than they of the former house seems impossible. I talked of how we measure this glory, looking for it in a pre-conceived paradigm. The acts of the Apostles certainly gives a detailed account of the church and her purpose and mission being fulfilled.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

Then I began to look at the current state of the church. I m not Ezekial and I can t say that I have been caught away in my spirit to sit in a given situation, but in the spirit of discernment I am able see clearly the condition and confusion that exists. My mind is clear on current state of the church.

The last part of these messages deals with the perfection of the saints , what does it mean to be perfect, most importantly to me is how do we get there.. How is this house going to get out of the rubble, and move forward with the work. Here are some facts

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

I have come to know, that it is not about the temple, it is about who is in the temple I have come to know, they wrote His-story in their generation and I am grateful for the foundation of the Apostles and the Apostolic Generation I am writing His-story in my generation, my name is Kerry G. Wilson, I am not going to re-write the scripture, I am going to finish the temple, I am not Charles Finney, or Smith Wigglesworth or John Wesley or Billy Sunday or any of builders of a previous generation .

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

I am Kerry G. Wilson, and the glory of the latter will preside and flow through me Haggai 1:14 New International Version (NIV) 14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God,

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

I am not going to measure, reason, or imitate the past, I am going to participate in the future. 2 Corinthians 5:16 King James Version (KJV) 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

John 17:21-23 King James Version (KJV) 21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

I have this glory, it is not an abstract term, something that I observe and study. This glory must be manifested. God is sovereign, in the plant, animal, and in nature itself there is a glory, We have no participation in all this glory. God acts in nature and we see His manifestation in all of life. However in man, we are made of the same stuff, in His likeness and in His image. We manifest His glory in the physical sense, we are part of this, the glory comes from heaven but not apart from and through us

The Church Past, Present and Prophetic Part 19

This is where we are going, this glory is going to be manifested in the believer because we have been chosen. It is a treasure in earthen vessels. Our perfection and the ensuing glory will depend upon our ability to grasp what is real and what is false ..

John 16:13-15 13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of reality, is come, he will guide you into all reality: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
