Gestures should be observed in clusters to provide a more accurate picture of person being observed Each gesture is like a sentence The sum total of postures and gestures relate a nonverbal story

What are the ways of non verbal Communication?


Smiling there is nothing like a smile and pleasant face to greet a participant, especially if he/she has a complaint. Eye contact always look into your participants eyes. Directly address participants. How you look personal grooming has a big impact on your participants. Let participants know you take seriously your position. Shaking hands when shaking hands with a participant a firm and professional handshake is expected.

Key Points and Learning

It can take a lot of effort to communicate effectively. However, you need to be able to communicate well if you're going to make the most of the opportunities that life has to offer. You need to communicate your ideas clearly and effectively, and understand much more of the information that's conveyed to you. As either a speaker or a listener, you're responsible for making sure that the message is communicated accurately. Pay attention to words and actions, ask questions, and watch body language.

LIGHTHOUSE TECHNIQUE

Sweep the audience with your eyes, staying only 2-3 seconds on each person unless in dialogue. This will give each participant the impression that you are speaking to him / her personally and ensure attention, in the same way as the lighthouse keeps you awake by its regular sweeping flash of light.

Dont be tempted by manual props (pens, pointers, spectacles etc) Dont keep loose change in your pockets Be aware of your verbal tics and work on eliminating them (I.e. OK! You know and so forth Now) Watch out for furniture! Avoid closed or tense body positions Dont worry about pacing, leaning, etc Check your hair/tie/trousers/dress before standing up.
