Apr 1, 1999
Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojana

➢Launched on October 2, 1993 in urban areas

➢From April 1, 1994, implemented throughout


the country
➢Proposed to create about10 lakh employment
opportunities
➢Beneficiaries- Age group of 18-35 years and
having family income below Rs 40,000 is
provided a loan up to Rs 1 lakhs for opening his
own enterprise and Rs 2 lakhs for other activities

Guarantee Bill

➢Introduced in 2004.

➢Minimum daily wage is Rs.60 per day for 100


days guaranteed by the bill.
➢200 districts are covered under this bill in the
starting phase.
➢Provision of Rs 40,000 Crore annual

➢In first phase 200 districts are covered


Demerits of The Bill

➢Rs 60 per day as guaranteed in the bill is not


sufficient to run a family
➢State government to finance 10% of the
scheme
➢Friction within family

➢Room for conflict between Panchayat and the
