Vocabulary: Indians use certain suffixes to create new words like : Convented Girl, Boundations, Fargification. Collective nouns are made plurals like Sheeps, Aircrats, Mobs Unfamiliar Compound nouns appear: Chalkpiece, Key Bunch, School goer, backward class, flower bed, welcome address, God Love, cow-dung cakes, wrist band, black-money, car-festival, match box. Cousin-sister, waist-thread, pindrop silence. Hybrid or mixed formation of words: Ansu-gas, lathi-charge, nazul-land, vagetable wala etc

Wrong use of affirmation and negatione.g.- Are you not going to the market? Yes, I am not going. Are you going to the market? No, I am not going. Ask questions with intonation? You are coming with us?? Use of Stative verbs in to progressive forms: Are you having a pen? You are looking handsome. I am seeing him coming to college. I am knowing him for a long time. There is no consistent Institution about any linguistic or stylistic use of Indian English. There is no speech community that would set the norms of IE. No one takes pride in being called the speaker of Indian English. Indian Constitution itself accepts the British English as the standard form. Speakers competence in IE is severely limited, we know what speaker can express but we seldom know what he can not express. English is a second language in India so it is very difficult for the people to cross the superior level. The norms of Indian English are not within the speech community. They exist outside in BrE and AmE.
