INTRODUCTION

Google is a widely search engine that uses text matching techniques to find the web pages that are important and relevant to users search

The word Google comes from the misspelling of


word googol which refers to 1 followed by 100 zeros. The company is running millions of server worldwide.

HISTORY
Google began in January 1996 as a research project by Larry

Page and Sergey Brin when they were both PhD students at
Stanford University in California The Initial public offering took place on August 19, 2004,

raising $1.67 billion, implying a value for the entire


corporation of $23 billion. The company is listed on Nasdaq and London stock exchange

under ticker symbol GOOG and GGEA respectively.

Google continues to focus on innovation and on the user experience.

Philosophy of Google
Focus on the user and all else will follow. It's best to do one thing, and do it well. Fast is better than slow. Democracy on the web works. You don't need to be at your desk to need an answer. You can make money without doing evil. There's always more information out there. The need for information crosses all borders. You can be serious without a suit. Great just isn't good enough.
