GERUND

I/. DEFINTION:
Gerund is a verbal (tính từ)
form that ends in “-ing” ,for
example, being, going, giving,

 II/. HOW TO USE:
_ Because gerunds are verbal nouns, they’re used as
other nouns are used.
For example:
The computer‘s maintainance is necessary for you to use computer for a long time.
Maintaining computer is necessary for you to use (in using computer) for a long
time.
_ You will generally see gerunds as subject or objects of
verbs or as objects of preposition is clause.

_ Playing cards is enjoyable -> gerund as subject of a
verb.
_ He enjoys playing guitar. -> gerund as object of a
verb.
_ We also use gerund after preposition or some special
