Project Management

Project management is the discipline of organizing and managing resources in such a way that the project is completed within defined scope, quality, time and cost. It should be unique and Temporary

Why Project Management

Improved communication among project participants. Increased understanding of the project and its purpose. Ability to define and control project scope Accurate projection of resource requirement.

Planning

Scope Management Plan (change.affected.changeflow.time) Project Scope Management Create WBS. Determine Project Team. Activity List. Activity Sequencing & Network diagram. Activity Resource Estimation Time Estimation.

Work break down structure

WBS is a foundation document that provides the basis for planing and managing project schedules , costs, resources and changes.

Activity Definition and Milestones

Identifying the specific schedule activities that need to be performed to produce the various project deliverables.
A milestone is significant event that normally has no duration. It often takes several activities and a lot of work to complete a milestone.

Activity Sequencing & Network Diagram

Identifying and documenting dependencies among schedule activities.

Network diagrams are the preferred technique for showing activity sequencing.

PDM Network Diagram

Identify Critical Path

Critical Path are longest path in network diagram. It Predict the total project duration. Path 1: A + D + H + J = 14

Path 2: B + E + H + J = 16
Path 3: B + F + J = 9 Path 4: C + G + I + J = 14

Resource Management

Identify Resource by using Activity Sequencing Identify Cost if resource is find out. Schedule time according to requirment. Check critical path if schedule change. Check project cost if critical path change. To manage schedule use buffer time in project deadline not task deadline. Add Project Buffer not task buffer.

Project Risk Management

PRM is the art and science of identifying, analyzing and responding to risk throughout the of project and in the best interest of meeting project objectives.

Risk can be Negative. (minimize it) Risk can be Positive. (maximize opportunity)
