The term Agribusiness


An Agribusiness is a social institution. The food and fiber system is increasingly being referred to as agribusiness. The term agribusiness was first introduced by Davis and Goldberg in 1957.

Types of Agri Industries


1) Extractive industries :
These industries are concerned with the extraction and utilization of natural resources. Example fishing, fruit gathering, agro-based industries, forestation.

2) Genetic Industries :
These industries include breeding of plants, seeds, cattle breeding farm, fish hatcheries, poultry farms. Of course, factors like nature, climate and environment play a dominant role in these industries, yet human skill involved in their production cannot be ignored. For example intensive agriculture is possible with greater amount of capital and larger number of workers.

3) Manufacturing Industries :
These industries are engaged in the conversion of raw material or semi finished goods produced in the extractive industries. Some prominent examples are cotton textile industry, spinning and weaving mills etc. Manufacturing industries can further be classified into five types : (i) Analytical industry (ii) Processing industry (iii) Synthetic industry, (iv) Service industry (v) Assembly industry.

India
Agriculture in India has a long history dating back to ten thousand years. Today, India ranks second worldwide in farm output. Agriculture and allied sectors like forestry and logging accounted for 22% of the GDP in 2009, employed 52% of the total workforce and despite a steady decline of its share in the GDP, is still the largest economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall socio-economic development of India.

Indias share in the world production of mango is about 39 per cent and of banana is 23 per cent. India is the largest producer, consumer and exporter of spices and spice products. In grapes, India has recorded the highest productivity per unit area in the World. India produces 45 per cent of the global production of Cashew. Besides this India is the largest producer, processor, consumer and exporter of Cashew in the world. India leads 90 coconut-producing countries in the world and is the 3rd largest producer of coconuts. India is the 3rd largest producer and customer of fertilizers in the World after China and USA.

Born in a small village named Sanali in Rajkot district on the 18th day of October in the year 1963. At the small age of 18 years started labor contracts. At the age 23, Started Government Contracts and still continue. Farming right from the childhood still continue. In 1987, Started Energy Conservation Project for the Rectification of farmers pump set and still continue.

In 1988, Started a Computer Education Centre in Rajkot named as PATEL COMPUTERS and became the Pioneer in the field which was 1st ever in Saurashtra. Now It has become very much famous institute having more t than 30 franchises in Saurashtra region & still growing.
In 1989, Started Plastic Pipes & Fittings trading business and still continue.

In 1994, Started Aptech Computer Education Centre which was 2nd in Rajkot.
Also remained as a President for whole Gujarat Aptech Computer Education. In 1998 started ITI short-term courses. Also remained as a Saurashtra Zone President.

In 2001 started Oganja College of Information Technology for BCA & PGDCA courses. In 2002 become the Authorized Distributor of HUTCH for the Saurashtra & Kutchh Region. In 2006 Started the Company named Sarovar Polymers Pvt. Ltd. In 2009 Elected as the President for the Gujarat Plastic Pipe Manufacturing Association. Being the Visiting faculty for the MSMS , NSIC and other government undertakings. Carrying out various Social Services Activities.

In February 2006, while surfing on internet saw an information on internet about the huge exhibition of PlastoIndia in Delhi and on the spot decided to go and attend the exhibition. Went to the exhibition and saw a Vision to fulfill the DREAM to start a Company named SAROVAR POLYMERS PVT LTD and instantly in the same month decided and laid the foundation on 20th February. 2006. On 12th May, 2006 production unit started and the real journey began. From the day production started till now the situations have changed highly. Though huge huge huge obstacles and many unexpected risk factors and everything came on the way through this journey towards huge success, but Mr. Amrut Patel fought and won through every situation and achieved huge success but they are only Milestones for him.
