WHAT IS SIMULATION?

A common definition of a simulation is a reproduction of an item or event.

Simulations can be produced in all fields through computer games, roleplays, or building models.

GOAL OF SIMULATION
To mimic, or simulate, a real system so that we can explore it, perform experiments on it, and understand it before implementing it in the real world Applying knowledge gained through exposure to simulation, is the main purpose of simulation education

SIMULATION
Involves learners confronting a scaled-down version of a real-life situation. It allows realistic practice without expense or risks otherwise involved. the

Simulation may involve participant dialog, manipulation materials and equipment, or interaction with a computer. Can be used to the whole class or small groups working together.

ADVANTAGES OF SIMULATION;
Simulation can represent something that is too large or too complex to bring into the classroom. e.g The learning about engine Safety. Simulation provides a safe way to engage in learning experience. Hands-on. Students have an opportunity for hands-on experience. Variety of ability levels. Students of all ability levels can be included in the expensive.

LIMITATIONS OF SIMULATION ;
Questionable presentation. A simulation may not be truly representative, or it may give a false sense of security for some students. Complexity. An activity may become too complex or intense for the classroom setting. Novelty may be difficult.

EXAMPLES OF SIMULATION SOFTWARE

VISUAL ANALYSER
MATHEMATICA FORTRAN SAGE ETC.

MATHEMATICA SOFTWARE
A powerful software to simulate the mathematical term, graphics (1D-3D), graph plotting and very useful for teachers.

VISUAL ANALYSER
One software that can be used for simulation is Visual Analyser. Can act as mini Oscilloscope that can be installed in every computer.

Can show directly the shape of sinus wave, can generate sound wave
Enhance the better understanding towards the concept of wave. Suitable for higher level of education

GAMBAR MELAKUKAN EKSPERIMAN GUNA VISUAL ANALYSER

The Shape of wave produced by sound wave

Student can directly interact with the sotware to find out the frequencies just by clicking on the wave..

Differences between simulation and animations

SIMULATION ANIMATION

Simulation of dynamic systems involves the formulation of mathematical models that employ a) initial conditions, b) physical properties c) governing laws of physics to predict or model motion reproducing a sequence of events.

To animate is to make or design in such a way as to create apparently spontaneous lifelike movement.
