Image
Knowledge about a problem domain is coded into an image processing system in the form of a knowledge database.
discusses
various factors and techniques involved with the acquisition and calibration of images. are generated by the combination of an illumination source and the reflection or absorption of energy from that source by the elements of the scene being imaged.
Images
to improve the image data that suppresses unwanted distortions or enhances some image features important for further processing. Four categories of image pre-processing methods:
pixel brightness transformations geometric transformations pre-processing methods that use a local neighborhood of
the processed pixel image restoration that requires knowledge about the entire image.
Segmentation of the image is to subdivide a image into its constituent regions or objects. Image segmentation algorithms generally are based on one of two basic properties of intensity values: discontinuity and similarity. Discontinuity is to partition the image based on abrupt changes in intensity, such as edges of the image. Similarity is to partition the image into regions that are similar according to set of predefined criteria.
to
to
extract features that result in some quantitative information of interest or features that are basic for differentiating one class of objects from another.
to
assign a label to an object based on the information provided by its descriptors. identification of objects in an image with image processing techniques such as noise removal, followed by (low-level) feature extraction to locate lines, regions and possibly areas with certain textures.
The
Extraction
of qualitative and quantitative information in the form of a map, about the shape, location, structure, function, quality, condition, relationship of and between objects by using human knowledge.
