Welcome to the Family

Welcome to the Family Were glad that you have come to share your life with us as we grow in love and may we always be to you what God would have us be a family always there to be strong and to lean on.

May we learn to love each other more with each new day. May words of love be on our lips in everything we say. May the spirit melts our hearts and teach us how to pray that we might be a true family.

The Big Catch

Luke 5:1-7

Now it happen that Jesus was standing one day by the Lake of Gennesareth, with the crowd presenting around him listening to the word of God, when he caught sight of two boats at the waters edge. The fishermen had got out of them and were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats- it was Simons- and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.

When he had finished speaking and said to Simon, Put out into deep water and pay out your nets for a catch. Simon replied, Master, we worked hard all night long and caught nothing, but if you say so, I will pay out the nets. And when they had done this, they netted such a huge number of fish that their nets begun to tear, so they signaled to their companions in the other boat to come and help them; when this came, they filled both boats to sinking point.

When Simon Peter saw this he fell at the knees of Jesus saying, Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man. For he and all his companions were completely awestruck at they had made; so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simons partners. But Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid; from now on, it is people you will be catching. Then, bringing their boats back to land they left everything and followed him. The Gospel of the Lord.

The Parable of the Pencil

In the beginning, the Pencil Maker spoke to the pencil saying, "There are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and you will become the best pencil you can be."

The most important part of you will always be what's inside.

You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but this is required if you are to become a better pencil.

You have the ability to correct any mistakes you might make.

You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.

No matter what the condition, you must continue to write. You must always leave a clear, legible mark no matter how difficult the situation.

The pencil understood, promising to remember, and went into the box fully understanding its Maker's purpose.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you; always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various challenges, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

You will be able to correct mistakes you might make and grow through them.

You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

On every surface you walk, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to serve your higher purpose in life.

Everyone is like a pencil... created by the Maker for a unique and special purpose. By understanding and remembering, let us proceed with our life on this earth having a meaningful purpose in our heart.

Jesus and the Woman

JOHN 8:1-11

Then each went off his house, while Jesus went to the Mount Olives. At daybreak he reappeared in the temple area; and when people started coming to him, he sat down and began to teach them.

The scribes and Pharisees led a woman forward who had been caught in adultery. They made her stand there in front of everyone. Teacher, they said to him, this woman had been caught in the act of adultery. In the law, Moses ordered such women to be stoned. What do have to say about the case? (They were posing this question to trap him, so that they could have something to accuse him of.)

Jesus bent down and started tracing on the ground with his finger. When they persisted in their questioning, he straightened up and said to them, Let the man among you who has no sin be the first to cast a stone at her.

A second time he bent down and wrote on the ground. Then the audience drifted away one by one, beginning with the elders. This left him alone with the woman, who continued to stand there before him. Jesus finally straightened up and said to her, Woman, where did they disappear to? Has no one condemned you? No one sir, she answered. Jesus said, Nor do I condemned you. You may go. But from now on, avoid this sin. The Gospel of the Lord.

In what way/s have you been or are you a scribe and a Pharisee to them?

What scribe, Pharisee qualities, attitudes, and behavior do you also find in yourself? How do they make you feel? Compare the number of people who are a scribe, Pharisee to you with the number of those to whom you are a scribe, a Pharisee? Which group is bigger? How does your discovery make you feel?

When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving advice, you have not done what I asked. When I ask you to listen to me and begin to tell me why I shouldnt feel this way, you are trampling on my feeling. When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problems, you have failed me, strange and they may seem. Perhaps thats why prayer works for some people. Because God is mute and He doesnt offer advice or try to fix things. He just listens and trusts you to work it out for yourself. And if you want to talk, wait a few minutes for your turn and I promise Ill listen to you.

JESUS IN THE DESERT

MATTHEW 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led into the desert by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil. He fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward was hungry. The tempter approached and said to him, If you are the son of God, command this stones to turn into bread.

Jesus replied, Scripture has it: Not on bread alone is man to live but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Next the devil took him to the holy city, set him on the parapet of the temple, and said, If you are the son of God, throw yourself down. Scripture has it: He will bid his angels to take care of you; with their hands they will support you that you may never stumble on a stone.

Jesus answered him, Scripture also has it: You shall not put the Lord your God to the test. The devil then took him up a very high mountain and displayed before him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence, promising, All these will I bestow on you if you prostrate yourself in homage before me.

At this, Jesus said to him, Away with you, Satan! Scripture has it: You shall do homage to the lord your God; him alone shall you adore. At that the devil left him, and angels came and waited on him. The Gospel of the Lord.

The Parable of the Loving Father Luke 15:1-3, 11-32

There once was a man who had two sons.

The older son worked hard and obeyed all that his father told him to do.

The younger son liked to play and have fun. He wasnt interested in working.

Was this a happy family?

One day, the younger son went to his father and said.

Dad, when you go Give me my youre going half now! to leave a ton of cash.

The father was shocked!

OK, Its your Choice.

Far Away
The younger son gathered all he had, and set off for a far away country.

There he wasted his money on parties and wild living.

Guess what happened next?

Famine!

He had spent all he had, so he went and got a job feeding pigs!

The worst job ever!!!

Finally, he came to his senses!

My fathers hired menfather food I will return to my have to spare and here him and say to I am starving.

I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired men.

So he headed home to his father.

Home

But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with love for him.

He ran to his son, threw his arms around him, and kissed him.

Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.

Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. BringFather I have sinned the fattened calf andagainst heaven kill it. Let's have a feast and and against you... celebrate.

For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.

The older brother was angry and refused to join the party. All these years Ive worked for you. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends.

Look, my son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. But we celebrate this happy day because your brother was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found!

Just as the father in this story loved his sons, God, our Heavenly Father, loves his children. Even when we disappoint him and stray from what he has taught us, his love remains strong and he longs for our return. There is no end to our Heavenly Fathers love!!

You Have to Leave a Good Mark

Washing of the Feet

John 13:1-16

Before the feast of Passover, Jesus realized that the hour has come for him to pass from this world to the Father. He has loved his own in this world, and would show his love for them to the end. The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to hand him over; and so, during supper, Jesusfully aware that he had come from God, the Father who had handed everything over to him-rose from the meal and took off his cloak. He picked up a towel and tied it around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples feet and dry them with the towel he had around him.

Thus he came to Simon Peter, who said to him, Lord, are you going to wash my feet? Jesus answered, You may not realized now what I am doing, but later you will understand. Peter replied, You shall never wash my feet! If I do not wash you, Jesus answered, you will have no share in my heritage. Lord, Simon Peter told to him then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.

Jesus told him, The man who has bathed has no need to wash (except for his feet); he is entirely cleansed, just as you are; though not all. (The reason he said, Not all are washed clean, was that he knew his betrayer.) After he had washed their feet, he put his cloak back on and reclined at the table once more. He said to them:

Do you understand what I just did to you? You addressed me as Teacher and Lord and fittingly enough, for that is what I am. But if I washed your feet I, who am Teacher and Lord them you must wash each others feet. What I just did is to give you an example: as I have done, so you must do. I solemnly assure you, no slave is greater than his master; no messenger outranks the one who sent him. Once you know all of these things, blest will you be if you put them into practice. The Gospel of the Lord.

You Have to Leave a Good Mark

Are you a person who is loved? Do you feel that you are loved? When was the last time that you concretely experienced Gods love? How much are you aware of this?
