Roof Framing System

- All structural steel shapes shall conform to ASTM A-36 - Top chord and bottom chord shall be 75 x 75 x 6mm angle bar. - Web members shall be 50 x 50 x 4.5mm angle bar. - C-Purlins shall be 100 x 50 x 1.5mm - Cross Bracing with Turnbuckles shall be 12mm diameter and shall conform to ASTM A-307.

Rust-proofing and painting of the roof framing members All materials shall meet the requirements of the Standard Specifications of the Standardization Committee on supplies All paint materials shall be delivered on the job-site in their original containers with labels and seals unbroken. Base coat shall be epoxy primer of approved brand. Top coat shall be Quick Drying Enamel medium grey color of approved brand.

REHABILITATION OF THE ROOF FRAMING STRUCTURE

This item shall consist of furnishing all materials, tools/equipment and manpower required to perform and complete the

fabrication and erection/installation of steel roof framing structure

Complete mobilization of materials, manpower, tools and equipment such as mobile crane as may be required for the completion of the project Fabrication of steel roof framing structure. Welding of structural members in shop and on field shall be done only by certified and experienced welder. Surfaces to be welded shall be free from loose side, rust, grease, paint and other foreign materials that will impair the soundness of the weld.

Rust-proofing and shop painting of the steel surfaces. Steel works must be applied one coat of shop paint of epoxy primer, applied thoroughly and evenly to dry surfaces, which have been cleaned, by brush or roller. Steel work prior to painting and after inspection and approval shall be cleaned of loose mill scale, loose rust, weld slag of flux deposit, dirt and other foreign materials. Oil and grease shall be removed by solvent.

Steel structures shall be erected plumb and true to line and grade. Bracings and supports shall be introduced whenever necessary to take care of all the loads to which the structure may be subjected. Such bracings shall be left in place as long as may be required for safety. Cross bracing with turnbuckles shall be installed on both sides of the roof structure on every bay to ensure the alignment and plumpness of the structure. Grouting mortar shall be of the commercial type approved by the procuring entity and the methods of use as recommended by the manufacturer. Installation of the 100 x 50 x 1.5mm c-purlins welded to the roof truss assembly.

Provision of 12mm diameter sag rods welded to the purlins in such a manner that it will aid in the alignment of the installed purlins. Provision of metal cleats as may be deemed necessary. Field painting of the roof framing structures. All steel work after complete erection shall be field painted with the type and color as specified in the painting section of the Specifications. Painting shall not be done on any steel surface that is not thoroughly clean and dry.
