NSL plant being capital intensive, economics of operations suffer in case of shortened season. NSL Marketing strategies are not upto the mark. NSL has limited area to undertake its operation. NSL is facing transportation problem to get raw materials form villages.

Raw material, cane, being a agricultural product its availability and prices are dependent upon vagaries of monsoon. Tough competition from other sugar factories. Unable to satisfy the needs of workers, this might make them to leave the organization.
