Abstract:
Objective of the project is to make Indian jails more secure using new technology like RFID. Now a days keeping track on the prisoners and visitors in a jail is a tough task. Especially in big jails this task is too tedious. This RFID technology will keep track on every prisoner and visitors. In case if any prisoner will try to escape from jail it will detect that prisoner and generate an alert alarm. The microcontroller attached with the system will close all the other doors in the jail. Other than that it will also activate the supply of electricity in the security fencing. The system will detect the prisoner with photo and all data stored in the system. The system itself will send a SMS to the jailor, informing about the prisoner who is trying to escape the jail. The SMS will contain the detail of the prisoner who is trying to escape.

Introduction:

Technical reason for selecting this project:

To make Indian jails more secure using RFID. To make prisoner monitoring more efficient. Prisoners can be detected even in areas where CCTV

surveillance is not possible.

This is an automatic escape detection & prevention

mechanism.
Most helpful in preventing underground jail breaks.

RFID:
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the use of a

wireless non-contact system that uses radiofrequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking.

to a rice grain.

Types of RFID Tags:

Working:
Every prisoner & visitor will be given a RFID tag.

Every tag will be unique.

The prisoner details & visitor details will be stored in a secure

server upon entry into the prison. These tags will be used to monitor them in the prison. RFID reader is attached to inner gate of prison. If any prisoner will try to escape, that prisoner will be detected. To foil the escape attempt, following steps will be taken: Buzzer & red light alarm will get activated by the microcontroller. The main gate & inner gate of the prison will be closed by using stepper motors. Electric current will run in the security fence. An sms will be sent to the jailor containing details of the prisoner.
