Henry Bill Gates III born October 28 1955 was an investor, philanthropist, author, former CEO, and current chairman of Microsoft. Founded Microsoft with Paul Allen in 1975 and launched the first version of Microsoft Windows on November 20, 1985.

Microsoft relocated to Washington in 1980 & developed COBOL & FORTRAN. Microsoft developed MS DOS an operating system for IBMs first PC and Gates persuaded two other software firms to work for it.
