BHEL is largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India in the energy related/infrastructure sector today. BHEL was established more than 40 years ago when its first plant was set up in Bhopal in the indigenous heavy electrical equipment industry in India , a dream that has been more than realized with well-recognized track record of performance.

A trade union means, an association of workers in one or more professions - an association carried mainly for the purpose of protecting and advancing the members economic interest in connection with their daily work -G.D.H. COLE

DIFFERENT TYPES OF TRADE UNION

Craft Unions: If the workers of same category of job form into union,
that union is called Craft Union.

General Unions: If the workers of any industry, any region and any job
form into one union in order to protect the overall interests of the workers, such unions are called General Unions.

Industrial Unions: If the workers of different categories form into a


union that union is called Industrial Unions.

Federation and Confederation: Industrial unions, either of same


industry or of different industry may form into an association in order to improve Trade union Unity. Such unions of Unions are called Federations. During critical situations Federations in different industries may resort to concerted action without losing their individually. In such situations federations form into an Association and such association is called confederation.

questionnaire that was used to get information from sample.

Secondary Data:- Secondary data are that type of data,


which are already assembled. The aforesaid data was collected through Internet, company website, articles and reports.

FINDINGS

They provide best opportunity to the employees for the development Workers of the organization is highly satisfied with the trade union or trade leaders. Trade leaders having the control on workers Workers in the organization are participative in the trade union decisions

SUGGESTIONS

Quality & need based Training should be provided. It should be made necessary to provide at least two training programs to each employee, each year according to their specific needs & their work demands. Implementing good practices in teaching assistant guidance, training and supervision. Invite more external facility. Engaging professional trainers and avoid repeating the same training continuously for year. Company should provide the focused training for development of skills needed for the area/department and to prepare executives for future.
