HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT IDENTIFYING THIS PROBLEM?


Gender and Governance Low participation of women in decision making process leading to imbalanced statistics in access to land, employment, education, and HIV AIDS prevalence and gender based violence.
Women in Zambia are the most vulnerable groups/dependable for development. women in Chongwe District are farmers Zambian women provide 70% of produce yet most of the modern technology applied to cash crops has been monopolized by men.

IS THIS ISSUE IMPORTANT?


Gender and Governance Identify their role as equal citizens, womens roles in households communities as guardians of families place them in a position to contribute to livelihood plans feeding into developmental processes.

It encourages women to know about the National Decentralization policy and process in Zambia ( Benefits and Challenges)

HOW ARE YOU GOING ABOUT ADDRESSING THI S PROBLEM?


Gender and Governance

raising awareness on the National decentralization policy in rural areas, Conduct budget tracking in the Ministry of health and education.

Other activities include building capacity of the women in gender based violence, advocacy, project management, business management.

CREATIVITY: ARE YOU USING ARTS, CULTURE, MEDIA AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO POPULARISE THE ISSUES?

CDWA have been trained in popular theatre and have developed 6 drama groups who perform during the NDP outreach activities and other foras.

Distributed 1000 booklets on NDP, 100 copies of the SADC gender protocol, 200 gender based violence policy copies

Organizations can come and go, it is frustrating to lead when blind.

Causes of low participation by women in decision making process need to be addressed alongside their problems. (give the women skills and knowledge to fit those key positions.
