What is Cheque Clearing?


In banking and finance, clearing denotes all activities from the time a commitment is made for a transaction until it is settled.

What is clearing House?

A clearing house is a financial institution that provides clearing and settlement services for financial and commodities derivatives and securities transactions.

Types Of Clearing
Outward Clearing:
When a particular branch receives instruments drawn on the other bank within the clearing zone and sends those instruments for collection through the clearing arrangement is considered as Outward Clearing for that particular branch.This branch is known as collecting branch.

Inward Clearing:
When a particular branch receives instruments, which are on themselves and sent by other member bank for collection are treated as Inward Clearing of that branch.This branch is known as paying branch.
