Are There Things Hidden in the Word?

Now these things happened unto them by way of example (Greek: tupos shape, figure, type, form, manner, pattern); and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. (1 Cor 10:11) I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world. (Ps 78:2, Mt 13:35) And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parables. And he said unto them, Unto you is given the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all things are done in parables: that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest haply they should turn again, and it should be forgiven them. (Mark 4:10-13) And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it; and without a parable spake he not unto them: but privately to his own disciples he expounded all things. (Mark 4:33-34) These things have I spoken unto you in dark sayings: the hour cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in dark sayings, but shall tell you plainly of the Father. (John 16:25-26)

Are There Things Hidden in the Word? (contd)

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing; But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. (Prov 25:2) At that season Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes (Mt 11:25, Lk 10:21) But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: (Dan 12:4) And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand. (Dan 12:9-10) To him that overcometh, to him will I give of the hidden manna. (Rev 2:17) Where is this Jesus who is tip-toeing through the flowers wondering why people dont understand him? Not in the Bible.

Keys to Understanding This Presentation

God causes history to repeat so as to be instructive
That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Eccl 1:9) That which is hath been long ago; and that which is to be hath long ago been: and God seeketh again that which is passed away. (Eccl 3:15) Most all prophecy has a dual fulfillment 1st man was a physical man - God talks and acts physically to that man. 2nd man is the spiritual man - God talks and acts spiritually to that man.

So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit. Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven. (1 Cor 15:45-47)
First fulfillment of prophecy is physical, 2nd is greater spiritual fulfillment. Most history is prophecy - we can fill in the details about what will happen by understanding what has happened.

Keys to Understanding This Presentation (contd)

Its not the devil thats in the details, its God who reveals His plans in the details.
There are no extra, superfluous words. The details that seem extra is where you will find hidden information. Look for the details that do not add to the overall story what does not fit? Sometimes the description of the former fulfillment of the allegor, prophecy, or parable reveals the details of the future, latter fulfillment Why that name? Why that number? Why did the event happen there? Why in that sequence of events? Why that day?

Keys to Understanding This Presentation (contd) In the allegories, the Lord plays with units like distance or time, but it is the number that matters, not the units. Well see many examples of this. There are allegories and parables that point to the proper 1,000 year millennial timeframe in which the end times will come for these allegories 1 Day = 1,000 years (Ps 90:10, 2 Pet 3:8) There are other allegories and parables which point to the timeframe of events within the 1,000 year period. For these, 1 Day = 1 Time = 1 Year.

Jos 3:4: Israelites follow Ark across Jordan (death) by 2,000 cubits (yrs) Gen 41:1: Joseph in front of Pharoah after 2 full years (2,000 yrs) then 7 years of plenty then 7 years of famine looks like 14 years in. Jos 6:15 they rose at dawning of the 7th day to compass 7 times before trumpet blast, great shout, fall of the walls, and everyone goes up before him. Gen 6:3: Mans years 120 (x50 for Jubilee yrs) = 6,000 yrs not 121 so likely within first 50 years. Gen 7:6: Flood came in 600th yr of Noah (600th decade of world, start of 7th century of Noahs life) Shem (Hebrew: Name) lives for 600 years (600 decades).
