1. INPUT
Information you put into the computer by way of keyboard, mouse, or stylus.
2. PROCESSING
Also known as the "Brain" of the computer. Processes the information you put in into human readable form.
a. Calculate
Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division
b. Copy
happens many times with each instruction that is processed, between registers in the CPU, Devices in the system, and different addresses in the memory.
c. Comparing
Every time data is copied, the original data set must be compared to the new data set and when data is being sorted, values in the database compared to the sort string. When datasets are being searched, the database must be compared to the search stream.
3. OUTPUT
The information you put into the computer is seen on the monitor screen and can be printes out on paper and is readable.
4. STORAGE
Either the computers memory, CD's, DVD's, Floppy Disc's, USB Flash Drives, ZIp DIsc's, etc.
I am plotting a graph in microsoft excel, i am entering the values (input), the computer will calculate the values and plot the graph for me (processing), then display the graph (output), and after that, i will save it (storage) in my hardisk.
3. MUSCULOSKELETAL PROBLEM
medical issue caused by the use of computers is back and posture problems
Where did computer virus originate??? Computer viruses originate with programmers who write the code. Typically, the code is attached secretly to existing software, such as popular utility or word processing program. The program is then disseminated, perhaps via a companys computer network or an electronic bulletin board. Once inside on a new host, the virus reproduces. It may infect any program on any disk used by the system.
1. FILE VIRUSES
are viruses which generally attach themselves to regular program files. They can attach to various locations of the original file, replace code, fill in open spaces in the code, or create companion files to work with an executable file
2. BOOT VIRUS
is a virus that infects the part of the computer called a system sector.
3. MULTIPARTITE VIRUS
combine the abilities of the parasitic and bootstrap sector viruses and so are able to infect either files or boot sectors
4. MACRO VIRUS
is a virus that is written in a macro language: that is to say, a language built into a software application such as a word processor.
5. WORMS
malicious programs that make copies of themselves over and over, on the local drive, network, email, or Internet.
6. TROJAN HORSE
make copies of themselves, steal information, or harm their host computer systems.
Dont smoke.
Keep dust covers over your equipment when it isnt use, especially the keyboard, printer and disk drive.
Keep disks away from magnetic fields, which can erase data.
