A level of precision should be ‘chosen according to the level normally obtained during the production process in the workshop. H reduced tolerances are required, or wider ranges of tolerances are admissible and cheaper, they must be ‘shown on drawing each time. 3 FIELD OF VALIDITY The tolerances given in this standard are valid if drawings or other documents (e.g. Specifications) show reference to the standard, as shown in section 5. ‘Tolerances described in other IVECO standards for some production processes (see IVECO STD. 10-2310 Table |) can be applied only if clearly shown on drawings or other documents, It technical documents contain several instructions tor dimensional tolerances, in case of doubt, the instruction with the widest tolerance should be followed. For a surface dimension without tolerance information. but processed applying dimensional tolerances according to this standard, and a surface processed applying dimensional tolerances according to other specifications, the tolerance suitable in each case is that for the process implying the larger tolerance, Edition] _ Date Description of Modifications Group 1 [30.10.1986 2 [23.06.1980 | Corrected in Table II ( > 6 < 30) the deviation sign, was = 2 TFO IVECO Standard 10-2311 Page 2/4 Date 28.08.1990 3.1 THE TOLERANCES DESCRIBED IN THIS STANDARD ARE VALID FOR, a) linear dimensions, e.g, outside and inside dimensions, diameters (see table |), blend radii and chamfer heights (see Table I!) ©) angular dimensions (see table Il) whether ornot shown on crawing (eg. 90° angles andanglesof regular polygons) ©) linear and angular dimensions resulting from machining connected parts 4) linear and angular dimensions of components consisting of welded parts 8.2 THE TOLERANCES IN THIS STANDARD ARE NOT VALID FOR. 4) linear and angular dimensions with tolerances shown separately for each of them b) linear and angular dimensions for which technical documents contain other general tolerance instructions (see IVECO STDS. 10-2899 and 10-2310) «¢) auxiliary dimensions in brackets according to IVECO STD. 10- 1215 ) nominal dimensions in boxes according to IVEGO STD. 10-1404 €) angular dimensions obtained by dividing circumferences 1) undimensioned 90° angles, between coordinate axes 4) linear and angular dimensions obtained by connecting parts, 4 TOLERANCES Concerning the interdependence of dimensional linear and angular) and geornetrical tolerances, see VECO STD. 10-2810 section 4, 4.1 LINEAR DIMENSIONS Table | ~ Admissible deviations for linear dimensions, except blend radii and chamfer heights Daviations for noninal mansions Precision level | 205 | 2a | 26 | 200 | o120 | 400 | 1000] >2000 | »4o00 | e000 | >12000 | >16000 05 > 36 320. 3120 <3 56 £30 120 £400 A (precise) 02 205 ra 2 4 /B (medium)* [e (approximate) 22 H @ Ezy 5 [P (ery approximate) | For nominal dimensions less than 0.5 mm, each deviation must be shown beside the nominal dimension See section 5 4.2 ANGULAR DIMENSIONS Permissible angular deviations are shown in Table Ill with regard to the nominal dimension of the shortest side.
