If other technical rules are used in accordance with the state of the art to solve related prob- lems, itis assumed that the overall concept has been taken into account. ‘The AD 2000 body of regulations can be used as appropriate {or other modules of the Pressure Equipment Directive or for different sectors of the law. Utilisation Of the permissible design stress in the weld under internal pressure shall be defined in the assessment of suitability The requirements placed on tubes made from comparable steel grades as specified in 2.2.1 to 2.25 shall apply as appropriate as minimum requirements during assessment of suitability 3 Tests 3.1 Seamless tubes as specified in 2.1.1 10 2.1.5 shall be tested in accordance with the relevant DIN standards. 3.2. For seamless tubes as specified in 2.1.6, the tests shall be performed in accordance with the stipulations in the assessment of suitablity 3.3 Welded tubes as specified in 2.2.1 to 2.2.5 shall be tested in accordance with the relevant DIN standards. ‘9.4 For welded tubes as specified in 2.2.6, the tests shall be performed in accordance with the stipulations in the ‘assossment of suitabilty 3.5. If a non-destructive test (e.g. an eddy current test according to Stahl-Eisen-Priflatt 1925) is used as a leak test instead ofthe hydraulic test, the suitability of this proco- dure shall originally be established by the relevant third party 3.6 If tubes according to the Technical Delivery Conditions stated in this AD 2000-Merkblatt are to be subjected to non- destructive testing according to SEP 1915, the tubes shall be tested over their entire length), Ifthe instalation is such that ends of tubes remain untested, ‘evidence of freedom from defects shall be provided in ano- ther way. This can be achieved by supplementary non- destructive testing or by the testing of ring specimens, It is also permissible to cut off the untested tube ends. 4 Marking 4.1 Tubes as specified in 2.1.1 to 2.1.5 and 2.2.1 to 2.2.5 shall be marked in accordance with the stipulations in the relevant DIN standards. 4.2 Tubes as spociiod in 2.1.6 and 2.2.6 shall he marked in acoordance with the stipulations in the assessment of si ‘ability 5 Certification of quality 5.1 Quality shallbe certified according to Tables 1a and a 5.2 The tube manufacturer shall adcitionally certify the following: (1) That the material used for the tubes meets the requite- ments in the relevant DIN standards or the assessment (f sultabiity for the appropriate steel grade and, if appli- cable, Quality Level or Test Class, that all tubes have passed the leak test and that, over their entire length, they are in the proper delivery conaition according to the appropriate material specification or in the delivery con- ition agreed at the time of ordering, 2A snd at th ent as en ii ees ese AD 2000-Merkblatt (2) The non-destructive testing stipulated inthe relevant DIN standards or the assessment of suitabilty with aninspec- tion certificate 8.1.8 as specified in DIN EN 10204 has been carted out (9) The result ofthe ladle analysis in the case of alloy steels insofar as thisis rquiredin the material specications, (4) The utiisation of the permissible design stress in the case of tubes as specified in 2.2.1 with atest certificate and in the case of tubes as specified in 2.2.6. (6) That tests have been catried out to make sure that the correct material has been usedin the case of tubes made from alloy steels according to DIN 17173, 17174, 17175 and 1717, 6 Design values 6.1 The design values for tubes as specifiedin 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 are to be taken trom the technical delivery conditions contained therein 6.2 Fortubes.as specifiedin2.1.3, thecharactetisticdesign values shall be taken from DIN 17175. 6.3 For tubes.as specified n2.2.3, thecharacteristicdesign vvaluos shall bo taken from DIN 17177. 6.4 For tubes as specified in 2.1.4 and 2.2.4, the values sti- pulated in DIN 17173 and DIN 17174 are applicable. ‘AD 2000-Merkblatt W 10 contains characteristic hot yiold stress values which are valid for short-time operation. 6.5 For tubes as specified In 2.1.5 and 2.2.5, the values. stipulated in DIN 17178 and DIN 17179 are applicable with the reduced values for the elevated temperature properties series being divided by 1,2 for the basic series up to 300°C. ‘This also applies to the high impact strength at low tempera: ture series and the special series with high impact strength at low temperature provided that no agreements were made at the time of ordering regarding evidence of the 0.2% proot stress at elevated temperature (see Note in Table 3) 6.6 For tubes as specified in 2.1.6 and 2.2.6, the values sti- ulated in the assessment of suitability are applicable. 6.7 The stress coefficients stated in the raterial speciica- tions or assessments of suitability and in 6.1 for 20°C. are applicable up to 50°C and those stated for 100°C are valid upto 120°C. In other temperature ranges, linear interpolation between the values stated is necossary (e.9. for 80°C, between 20°C and 100°C and for 180°C, between 100°C ‘and 200°C), no rounding-up being permissible. For materials with Individual certificates, the interpolation rule shall only apply where the interval between the figures is sufficiently small). 7 Suitable tubes as pressure vessel shells ‘The tubes listed in 7.1 and 7.2 may be used under internal (external pressure within the application mits in Table 1 or 26. 7A Seamless tubes 7.1.4. As specified in DIN 1630 "Seamless circular tubes made from non-slloyed steels with very high quality require ments". 7.1.3_As specified in DIN 17175 “Seamless tubes made ‘rom high-temperature steels" 7.1.4 As specified in DIN 17173 “Seamless ciroular tudes ‘made from steels with high impact strength at low tempera- ture’ 7.5 As specified in DIN 17179 “Seamless circular tubes ‘made from fine-grained structural steels” in conjunction with VeTUV-Werksiofiblater 351/2 to 88772, 7.1.6 Seamless tubes made from other steels according to assessment of suitability by the relevant third party. When testingin a longitu dinal direction, this value shall be two units higher. (2) The notched-bar impact strength shall correspond to the values which characterise the material. However, the average value obtained from three transverse ISO V- notch specimens at room temperature shall be at least 27 J. When testing in a longitudinal direction, this value shall be at least 43 J. 7.2, Welded tubes Welded tubes as specified in 22.1 to2.2.6'f the manufactu- rer orginally demonstrated tothe relevant third partyin apro- cedure qualification test) that he has reliably mastered the welding procedure. The requirements placed on tubes made from comparable stee! grades as specified in 7.2.1 to 7.2.4 shall apply as appro- priate as minimum requirements during assessment of suita- bility. 73 Tests For the testing of tubes as shells of pressure vessels, the following 7.3.1 to 7.3.4 are applicable. Provisions which deviate are stipulated in 7.3.2.1 7.3.2.1 For tubes made from steel grades 14 MoV 6 3, X20 CrMoV 12 1, 26 CrMo 4, 10 Ni 14, 12Ni19 and X8 Ni9 and for tubes made from steel grades having a minimum ten- sile strength > 520 Nimm, tensile tests and, where provision is made, impact tests shall be performed on one end of each tube. For tubes made from steel grades 14 MoV 6 3, X 20 CrMoV 121, 26 CrMo 4 and X 8 NI9, these tests shallbe performed ‘on both ends of each tube at opposite points 180° apart in the case of lengths > 4 m. 7.8.3 Tho spocimons for the mechanical and technicaltests ‘shall be taken at an angle to the tube axis or to the weld in the case of tubes having an outside diameter = 660 mm. 7.3.4 Tubes made from steel grades which aro hardened and tempered in alr or liquid and have an outside diametor > 100 mm shall be subjected to a hardness test to ascertain Uniform hardening and tempering. For tubes having outside diameters > 100mm up to < 325mm, the testis performed ‘on one end with the complete scope of testing including both ‘ends. For tubes having an outside diameter = 325 mm, both ‘ends are hardness tested. The hardness testis omitted for those tubes on which a tensile tests performed on both ends in accordance with 7.3.2.1 7.4 Marking ‘The provisions in clause 4 are applicable regarding marking ‘and, for tubes having an outside diameter = 660 mm, special marking, e.g. a test number, shall be used to establish that the consignment is covered by the material test certificate. 75 Certification of quality characteri Quality characteristics shall be certified according to Tables 1b and 2b; the requirements of 5.2 shall be taken into account. The material test certificate shall adcitionally state that the tubes satisfy the requirements in clause 7 of AD 2000-Merkbilatt W 4. 7.6 Design values ‘The provisions in clause 6 are applicable.
